Thank you for this email. Since the rally has been likened to an Anti-Trump rally we strongly suggest TWP not be involved in order for us not to be seen as partisan in the community. Since we are a 501(c)(3) we are prohibited from participating directly and indirectly in any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Participation in this event could be seen as us opposing President-Elect Trump by having a rally on the same day and time as the inauguration. The rally seems to promote a positive message unfortunately it may be seen as a protest anti-trump rally which could potential mark us as a target in a highly politically charged atmosphere. Thank you for sharing this information.
Her rally is slated to be on June 3, 2017 from 11 am to 6pm.
Having Steve Bannon in the National Security Council amongst many other decisions Donald Trump has made during his presidency so far has caused a lot of concerns. There can be arguments from Bannon being a white supremacist to the fact that they turned down somebody with experience with cheaper pay for someone who spent their life talking on a radio show with NO experience for a higher pay.
Washington D.C. The event raises a most important question; are these rallies helpful in upholding our free society? Or do they hinder comradery between American citizens? There is freedom in being heard and there is a place for peaceful resistance in America. It’s role is twofold: it brings awareness to citizens when a problem arises and it reminds government officials
The central theme of this article is hatred. It says that because of President Trump’s campaign the white nationalist felt that they could bring up a passed era full of hatred. In this article the author uses Thomas Jefferson to state the new approved state constitution, which was that everyone born after December 31, 1800 is declared free. This article, in my opinion, is meant for the white nationalist. It has evidence that what they’re doing is wrong. This article is similar to the one I chose. They both talk about how there is so much hatred going on ever since President Trump started running. This article reveals that even though white nationalists dispise other races they are still losing.
Other speaker lineups included former Vice President candidate Sarah Palin, Former Congresswoman Michelle Bachman, Frank Gaffney, Rep. Louie Gohmert presidential candidate Jim Gilmore, Mark Levin and other activists spoke to a crowd of several hundreds from around the country attended the rally. Despite the hot weather, the rally drew thousands of tea party members, supporters of Cruz and Trump, and Jewish groups combined with some holding signs and the American flag protesting the Iran deal outside the west lawn. Remarks from speakers were met with cheers and “Amen!” from the crowd along with angry boos when speakers mentioned the GOP leadership, President Obama, and Congress.
I live-streamed some of the rally but much of it didn't work. had some great conversations, and some not really that great. The US is very emotional right now and there is so much hate. People at this rally shouted "protest in peace but there wasn't much peace. In fact I didn't feel comfortable yelling 'I am a minority and voted for Trump." Nevertheless, that wouldn't change anyone's mind What opens peoples minds are the type of conversations you see here in this video: face to face conversations that show the person who you disagree with that you're human too and are fighting for something too
I attended Donald Trump’s campaign visit in Springfield on Monday with my friends Jenna Thornton, Max Maddison, and Madilyn Kell. That day, we all left together around 5 to make sure we would get there early enough to find fairly good seats. Before we walked in the building, there was a priest protestings and lots of people asking us to buy Donald Trump buttons. Even though we showed up an hour and a half early to the event the stadium was pretty packed. I read later in the paper that there were people lining up to get a seat since one in the afternoon that day. The music in the stadium was extremely diverse. After we said the pledge and sang along to some patriotic tunes they played Adele and really load Opera music. Donald Trump came onto
Imagine someone getting attacked just because of how they look, the way they talk, or where they come from. When a new president is to be elected there is always some type of drama going on between both parties. This year though, the candidate for the republican party has been disrespectful to many races and handicap people. Many who follow him tend to think the same way they just never had a presidential candidate express their opinion like Trump does, so many were not motivated to act the way they act now. These Trump rallies tend to surprise many because of how much hate is seen towards everyone who has different views or is a different race than white at these rallies. Imagine passing by some of these rallies or a supporter and witness seeing them bash someone because of their
The article states that “more than 1 million people gathered in Washington and in cities around the country… to the inauguration of President Trump (Stein, Hendrix, and Hauslohner 1). These people marched in order to protest the treatment of women, minorities, and immigrants by Trump. They held signs and made their voices heard by people all over the world. This march can be compared to the march of Dr. King and his comrades to seek justice for the unfair treatment of people of color.
In the first presidential debate Donald trump and Hillary Clinton made good points on what would happen if either one of them were president. In one of the arguments they were having hillary claims that she knows “how to really work to get new jobs and create new jobs”. Trump replies “But you haven’t done it in 30 years”. Making a point that if she gets into office she is not going to do anything with her presidential. They were many arguments about different topics but the increasing tension of racism on this country captured me into it. Donald Trump addresses that “African Americans, Hispanics, are living in hell”, and hillary clinton shoots back at trump saying that “It’s unfortunate that he paints such a dire picture of black communities”.
Election season is here and it goes without saying that this year’s election is different than any other election. In recent times campaign rallies have caused a hoopla. I have never been to a campaign rally, therefore when the opportunity to attend Independent Presidential Nominee Gary Johnson’s rally I felt that it would be a neat to see what a political rally is all about.
I will be observing a Hofstra University organization, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The intent of the NAACP Chapter at Hofstra University is to educate, uplift, and unify the students of Hofstra University and the surrounding community. They discuss issues surrounding the black community and bring about different ways to help alleviate the pressures the black community faces. A main issue facing the black community throughout the United States is police brutality and the exploitations of the innocent young, black men with the use of violence.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Anti-Semitism is defined as the hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group. While Anti-Semitism has always been present, recently many more hate crimes have occurred. No doubt, the United States government has acknowledged the Anti-Semitic actions; however, President Donald Trump has outlined no plans to stop them. The increase in Anti-Semites in the United States is predicted by the election of President Donald Trump. To combat the attacks in the United States, the United States government needs to intervene over Donald Trump because he has made no plan to stop the attacks.
I have participated in many rallies and protests over the years, most notably the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. That march and rally was to protest the many issues prevailing in the African American Community such as joblessness, racism, racial profiling, etc. This rally was in support of other nationalities, most of which, I have no personal connection to. I arrived at Walker Mill Baptist Church feeling a bit nervous and apprehensive. There were more than one hundred persons at the church and I was quite mesmerized at the number of African Americans willing to travel to New York and stand in solidarity with other nationalities concerning freedom of religion and other human rights atrocities. However, euphoria quickly dissipated when the bus arrived and only sixteen persons boarded for the trip.
In this paper I will argue against President Donald Trump not following the rule of law. First, the rule of law should be followed by everyone, not just by civilians; but by those that are superior, such as President Donald Trump. Furthermore no one deserves special treatment for laws that were placed for everyone to obey. Anytime Trump breaks the law America acknowledges the wrong doings but immediately turn the other cheek. Finally the rule of law is set to keep everyone safe and civilized. President Donald Trump not following the rule of law jeopardizes our safety.
