In conclusion, 16-year-olds should be allowed to vote. They are more likely to vote than 18-year-olds. Because of that, help to ease the problem of too few people voting. Also, they already have plenty of adult-like responsibilities, so it is fitting that they should be able to vote. Have you ever wondered if the voting age could be lowered? Well there is a huge Controversy on it. Why? Because many young adults, or teenagers, live and have the same responsibility as an adult would .In many peoples opinion, it should be lowered .Many people think the same way, young voices matter.

If the government allowed sixteen-year-olds to vote, they would build in them the habit of going out in elections at a young age. Eventually, that will result in increasing the overall voter turnout as the population ages. Middle adolescents would go out and practise their right out of habit. Consequently, the country will be more democratic. Moreover, politicians will care more about middle adolescents knowing that their voices count. Therefore, better services and advanced programs as well as critical wise decisions will take place creating a better environment for them. Overall, getting sixteen-year-olds into the habit of voting will definitely turn the table.

In the article “Takoma Park 16-year-old savors his history-making moment at the polls,” author Annys Shin explains how the Takoma City Council made the Montgomery County community the nation's first to lower the voting age from 18 to 16. Ms. Shin explains how Councilmember Tim Male asked, “How do we get more people vote” proposing that in a report seen from Denmark it suggest that younger teenagers are more likely to vote rather than their older peers. The director of the national reform organization Rob Richie stated, “ Eighteen year-olds, it turns out, are not a very good first voting age group.” They believe that by expanding the franchise to 16 and 17 year-olds it will get them into the habit of voting for the rest of their lives. However I do not believe that lowering the voting age will make a difference in the voter outcome.

I agree that the voting age should be lowerd to the age of 16.Simply because they do have mature 16 year olds.To me it's like the passage says "There is nothing magical about the age 18." In the article, “Takoma Park 16-year-old savors his history-making moment at the polls,” by Annys Shin, many teens who are 16-17 years old can now vote during the election. The decision was made by the Takoma City Council that in Montgomery County Community, they are the first ones in the nation to lower their voting age from 18-16 years old. A group of 350 students from Montgomery Blair High School were granted the right to vote in elections and one of the student who got the right to vote, Ben Miller had said, “ It’s a valuable Privilege,” and he means that it is a great advantage that many 16-17 years old can now vote. Many young adults who are the age of 18 are most likely not a good age to vote because many of them are planning to leave their childhood homes. The long debate over lowering the voting age in America from 18 to 21 always been a big issue. It began during World War II and became greater intensified during the Vietnam War. That’s when young men denied the right to vote, and they have to fight for their country. There is a big debate about what age you should be able to vote. I personally think that the voting age should be changed from 18 to 21 because 18 year old are not mature enough, at that age they do not know what and who to vote for, and they have no real world experience.

Also if the voting age were to be increased to 21, the participation rate for voting would decrease significantly. Everybody says how important it is to vote so why should 18,19 and 20-year-olds not be included? If the voting age was raised, it would make things worse, and it wouldn't be right for them to not take part in voting for our political future. Many people may underestimate the younger age groups and may not see them as mature enough to take part in voting.

Giving the fact that its a new day in age of technology. Instead of lowering the age and chancing these younger voters to not be responsible enough we should be more inavative. Now that I have given you each side of the story, here's what i think. I believe we should keep the voting age at 18, why?

I believie it should be maintainted at the age of eight-teen or (even raised), but thats not the question, so i will stick with it needs to be maitained. The main reason I believe it needs to be maintained is ,because at the age of six-teen your not thinking about who our next president is. You are worried about your lastest crush,if you passed that math test, and your friend. When you are six-teen the last thing you need to be concerded with is voting.
