AN EFFICIENT DATA CONCEALMENT APPROACH BASED ON PIXEL PAIR MATCHING AND ENCRYPTION TECHNIQUE Abstract - This paper proposes a data hiding method using adaptive pixel pair matching and data encryption approach for secret data communication. Steganography is the science of hiding secret data in plain sight within cover data so that it can be securely transmitted over a network. The idea of PPM is to use the values of pixel pair as a reference coordinate, and search a coordinate in the neighborhood set of this pixel pair according to a given message digit. Before hiding the data within cover image, two encryption schemes chaos encryption for secret messages and selective encryption for cover object are used to increase the data protection. The results will prove that the proposed method not only provides better performance than those of LSB and OPAP, but also is secure under the detection of some well-known steganalysis techniques. I. INTRODUCTION Steganography is the art of secret communication. Its purpose is to hide the very presence of communication as opposed to cryptography whose goal is to make communication unintelligible to those who do not possess the right keys. Digital images, videos, sound files, and other computer files that contain perceptually irrelevant or redundant information can be used as “covers” or carriers to hide secret messages.
