Have you ever felt happy when you came across money? Have you heard that saying money can’t buy you happiness? How did you felt when you came across money? Sad? Happy? Confused? When you think about happiness do you involved it with money? Well, here it is something to think about. Steve R. Baumgardner and Marie K. Crothers are the authors of Positive Psychology and wrote an essay about happiness, money, and culture. In Positive Psychology, the essay of “Happiness, Money, and Culture” this essay uses, rhetorical situation, some rhetorical appeals, and style in their essay, to employ that even in textbook they can be certain mishaps that come along with money and happiness. In Baumgardner and Crothers essay, about happiness, money, and culture they communicate to their audience effectively. In this essay it quotes, “Survey research affirms a widespread belief that there is more to life than money” (Baumgardner, Crothers 98). Although, this is true, the authors’ want you to know that money isn’t everything. However, can you help people who need the money more than you do? Will that have an impact on your life? Yes, because helping others is the right way to go. The audience might fall for their trap, but any person who is smarter enough will realize that helping others out financially or giving money to charity, that is a part of life. However, the audience might still be skeptical on the meaning of happiness and money, It has been said, “…money buys happiness”…
