Introduction:
In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things. Most things that change a person’s perception happens to be an experience that they have gone thru and learned from. In my case it wasn’t necessarily an experience, it was a dog that changed my perception on life. My mind and heart was opened in a whole new way. I never thought I could love an animal just as much as I loved the people in my life. I always thought it was strange that pet owners loved and treated their pets the same way they treated their children. My perception on dogs or pets in general definitely changed. Throughout this paper you will see why I am a totally different person because of a dog that entered my life.

The funniest thing is; she never turned to the left. She would always make circular movements to the left in a quick fashion. Seeing this made my so happy. I would find myself looking forward to it when I was parking the car in the driveway. Tacha was one greedy dog too, she knew that she was not allowed in the kitchen, but the second she thought someone wasn’t looking she would run in the kitchen and snatch whatever was left out on the counter. One time I remember ordering Pizza and the family was all in the dining room eating, and when my son went to grab another piece he noticed that the entire box was on the floor, and the pizza was gone. To our surprise Tacha ate all the pizza. My family would always find this funny, but there were plenty of nights when we couldn’t get seconds on dinner because it was in Tachas belly. Tacha was a smart dog, she was also aware that she was not allowed to get on any of the beds in the house. This didn’t stop her though. On several occasions one of us would walk in the house, and within 1 second we would hear a loud thump and Tacha running down the stairs. The loud thump was Tacha jumping off the bed. Times were not always so funny with Tacha, but I never loved her any less. One day Tacha was in the back yard getting some fresh air. I recall attaching her to the chain and going back in the house. About 1 hour later, the neighbor was banging on my front door screaming, “Come get your dog, come get your dog, she’s chasing
On my 17th birthday, I walked into my bedroom to see a snow white puppy with brown spots. He was in the middle of the floor laying on a furry, green pet pillow. A 4 month old pekingese that I named Baizil. He was afraid at first and only came out of the room for food, and to use the bathroom. Baizil was the sweetest ,laziest, most overprotective dog I had ever seen.
Wow what a fireball ChaCha is, and as you mentioned she is fiercely independent. Unfortunately, Bob has been out of town since early Tuesday but returns home this afternoon. ChaCha is my shadow and we have been spending a lot of time together. Tuesday and Wednesday we ran (jog/trot) and she did great, didn't over do it just about two miles, went out early this morning and walked the block which she enjoys, we do that twice daily - long walks that is. We spend most of the day out, we've been to the Red Cross office, Home Depot, Petsmart, Hollywood Feed and I took her with me to the university last night (I lent a friend a book) - she sure is a hit and your right she perfers men! Athena was the same way as well, she was Bob's dog and Apollo was
I went to camp for the first time last summer to get away from the pressures of home and school. Camp was a month long, I have never been away from my parents more than a week. I was very anxious. I had no idea what situations to expect and how I would handle them. I started to really wonder about my life. The way it was going was not the best for me. I can “run away” from my reality, but I know that I was going to have to come back to it in a month. The way I treat people was total opposite from how I treated my parents. What my friends were capable of doing was not a bit close to what my parents would let me do, my parents are very narrow minded. My grandparents were even more
One day a dog ran in a dump and found a dead raccoon. He ran back home, hid it in his bed. Three days pass and the whole house smells like dead animals. Jeff let the dog out to go to the bathroom. The dog ran down the road and found that dump. He found a cat. He ran it down the interstate. They were jumping on the hoods of the cars. The dog finely gave up and went
It just so happened that this dog would change my life forever. When we got into the shelter it was non stop barking, the person who
On a sunny summer day I was in a car with my grandmother heading towards aunt Debby’s house. On the way there, my grandmother told me, Ollie, my aunt’s weiner dog has given birth to her first litter. She has given birth to six puppies. Unfortunately the father was a chihuahua. When we got to their one story house, Ollie came outside to greet us by licking our faces. We came inside the house it was small, There was one bathroom, three bedrooms, a small kitchen, and a small living room. The bedrooms were kind of messy. Ollie went in one of the bedrooms, so I decided to follow her. When Ollie and I came into the room, I saw the puppies! They were in a big soft blanket covered kid pool. For some odd reason there was only four puppies, so I asked
It was August and I went to the pet store to get a new dog. My previous dog ran away and I never saw him again. I knew this was going to be the dog because it was my third dog now so I know exactly how to train them. I showed the nice lady which one I wanted and she got me it. It was a really little chiwowa. I named him Paco because it rhymes with taco.
She would always run to me when I got up in the morning, and when I got home after school. Some days she didn’t want to leave me at night to go to bed if my parents were not home. She would run back or away from her kennel. I would end up getting her in her kennel after about 15 minutes. I think I was her favorite though.
I started rolling like a wheel on a wagon. My owner heard me barking and he came but he didn’t know that there was a steep hill and started running toward me. He was not paying attention and started rolling too. He regained his balance but some of the bananas split open on the hill. He started to walk but he slipped on some banana peels. Then he started running and caught up with me.Then we slowed down and stopped. “We should get home but first let’s take a walk”,Mako said
Her name was Roxy she was the most beautiful dog in the world and she was the sweetest dog ever. then as we wore driving down central we saw a dog a big so we stopped a ran out the car and ran over to the dog he was emaciated and he stunk. we wore driving home and we saw what kind of dog he was he was a Rottweiler with no collar so we called the human society and ask if there were any missing dogs and they said no so now we had a new member to owner family.
There are many events that stand out in my life that were significant and helped me grow stronger. One of these events stands out in particular to me and had the greatest impact in my life. When I attended high school my focus was never on the academics but only on sports and having fun with my friends. I never payed attention for more than five seconds and failed to complete any type of work given to me. My lack of care for high school affected me on going to a four year college, playing a sport in college, and taking remedial classes.
During my second month of working at the shelter, I had a woman come in. She had this adorable puppy with her. His legs were gangly, and he was kind of a clutz. He was constantly tripping over himself and had his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. His coat was long and stringy, he looked like an ashtray. The lady then went on and told me that ‘this mangy mutt’ was a gift from her husband. She had told him she wanted an Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier, but he got her the gargantuan Irish
There have been very few events throughout my lifetime that I feel have impacted or inspired me with such noteworthiness and that I know will change my outlook on the world and affect me forever. One of those events occurred when I traveled to Portugal, my parent’s homeland. From this excursion in 2007, I learned the importance of family, most importantly the distant kind. It provided me with a totally different perspective on the world and how large and extended one’s family can really be; even across cultures and continents. I felt so fortunate learning this lesson at a young age and growing to appreciate the ideals I was brought up with as a child. The family I have in Portugal has always been there; however, their faces have aged and
As we walked around the same corner that Cesar just recently tore around, two teenage girls came into view. Both seemed to be either Juniors or Seniors in High School. One of the teenagers were leaning against the counter in the kitchen, and the other was playing with Cesar using a ball toy. Thump! Thump! Thump! The ball slammed around all over the kitchen floor. Cesar trailed right behind, following the toy and slamming into everything the ball did. Cesar was making a smiling face and his tail was going a hundred miles an hour, slamming into everything in its radius. The girl sitting on the floor with the toy asked me, "Do you want to try?" I replied hesitantly, "Sure." I was to little to have any memories of our first dog Wiley, so this was the biggest dog I could remember being around. When I started to play with Cesar, I forgot all about being nervous. Cesar was running all over, and it was so funny I completely forgot about my fear.
One of the times I went to Pet Co in Rockwall there was an elderly lady. She was extremely tiny, and fragile looking. I looked around her and saw a gargantuan dog! It was a beautiful husky with gold and white fur. That woman had that dog on a leash attached to her wrist. I thought to myself... she can't handle that dog on her own. Could she? The answer was...
