In 1923 in the Borough of Sayreville, a dependable police department was established. In the eyes of a Sayreville Police Officer, Sayreville is separated into four sections. Although these sections are not individually named, instead they are numbered (1-4), each officer has the responsibility of knowing the ins and outs of each area. Because of how in depth Sayreville is, the
Sayreville Police department strictly hires residents of Sayreville so the Officer is guaranteed to know each nook and cranny of the municipality. Sayreville Police Department must meet the credentials and requirements as the New Jersey Attorney General states them. The mission statement of the department is as follows:
“The mission of the Sayreville Police Department is to ensure that our community shall always enjoy the highest possible level of police services. That these services shall be provided with the highest regard for professional conduct and that regardless of the nature of assistance required, our Department will always be a dependable partner in keeping our community safe and secure”
(Sayreville Police Department).
As mentioned in the mission statement of the police department, the safety and comfort of the community becomes their top priority. Each officer is dedicated and trained to deliver the statement in its entirety.
