1.0 Abstract The objective of this report is to show the use of various computer systems in logistics industry. The logistics company chosen for this report is DHL. This paper will highlight how various system affects the daily operations of DHL, what benefits it brings to the organizations and the potential drawbacks it attracts and what should be done to solve limitations. While systems used are highlighted, the importance of how the performance of employees is affected by their working environment are also highlighted, along with ways to encourage better employee productivity. 2.0 Introduction DHL is an International shipping, courier, and packaging service which delivers documents, mails and goods to different nations around the world. According to Dhl.com (2015), DHL was established in 1969 by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom, and Robert Lynn. Initially, the company was doing a door-to-door express delivery service and transported documents between San Francisco, Honolulu, California and Hawaii with expansion into the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and Singapore. However, the company later became the leader in international overnight service. DHL was more interested in marine and continental delivering, but the success of FedEx Company gave them the chance of working in the United States at the beginning of 1983. DHL has several cargo transport systems including trains, planes and boats. DHL serves more than 220 countries
