Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle is critical for numerous different reasons. Whether it be for the benefit of physical health or mental health, there are very few downsides to exercising and eating right. However, for many people, all the different options and resources can be overwhelming. It can be difficult to determine which program is right for you, especially if you have a limited knowledge of all the aspects that go into it. Often, the best place for beginners to start is to just focus on general fitness and well-being. Starting with exercise, it is helpful to have a basic knowledge of the two main types of energy systems: aerobic and anaerobic. The aerobic, or oxidative system is used for any physical activity that lasts more than two minutes, such as swimming or hiking, because it can supply energy for longer periods of time (Fahey 61). Meanwhile, the anaerobic, or nonoxidative system comes into play during high-intensity exercises that last from about ten seconds to two minutes, such as sprinting. But what makes these specific types of exercises beneficial? To put it simply, the aerobic system favors fats as a source of fuel. Right off the bat, this is a benefit for many people whose goal is to lose fat. However, there are many other benefits that may be overlooked. Your heart will get stronger, thus pumping blood more efficiently and leading to less strain during future exercises. Your oxygen consumption also gets more efficient (MedicineNet). Many of these benefits only get stronger the more you exercise, so if you look out for these smaller things you might not normally think about, it is a great motivator to keep
A game of touch requires the use of all energy systems at once but in varied amounts. The body will automatically choose which energy system it requires the most based on the fitness components used. It has been identified above that the three main components used by a middle are; Aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and coordination. In figure 12.5 it shows the relationship between components of fitness and energy systems. Both aerobic capacity and muscular endurance relate to the Aerobic system. The aerobic system uses oxygen and is generally one of low-mid intensity and/or of a longer duration. Middles utilise this energy system because they continuously require energy production at an almost equal rate.
Energy is defined as the capacity for vigorous activity, and to ensure a continuous and sufficient supply of energy for all daily activities, there are three energy systems that work together. These systems are the ATP-PC system, the anaerobic glycolytic system and the aerobic system. Each system produces a different chemical energy from different sources at different speeds. The energy systems used by the human body is categorised into the intensity of the activity performed and the time of which it takes to complete. In sports, she relationship between intensity and time is in most cases inversely proportional seen in the diagram. An example of a sport that is of high intensity and is completed in a short time period is a 100m sprint. In comparison an example of an activity or sport that is of low intensity but takes a long time to complete is a 3000m run.

The ATP-PC uses phoso creatine and creatine phosphate, the lactic acid system uses glycogen and the aerobic system uses glycogen and triglycerides . Glycolysis refers to the breaking down of glycogen to from glucose which is used in ATP.
Metabolism comprises of a vital set of biochemical reactions that all living organisms require to sustain life. For a marathon runner, their physiological response to strenuous exercise depletes both their fats and carbohydrate storage in order to supply energy in the form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the energy form that the human body uses for biological processes such as movement and synthesis of biomacromolecules. In regards to running a marathon, the athlete is capable of using a combination of both anaerobic and aerobic pathways, but these different systems predominate at different intervals in order to increase the energy allowed for the muscles.
Aerobic exercise is an endurance activity which lasts longer than one minute and utilizes large muscle groups, using oxidative phosphorylation to extract energy from ATP (Chamari & Padulo, 2015). Anaerobic exercise is a short duration activity that uses glycolysis and fermentation to extract energy from ATP (patel et al., 2017). Cardio exercise refers to aerobic exercise that lasts ten minutes or more and causes the heart to beat faster and breathing rate to increase (Pate et al., 1995). Resistance training utilizes both anaerobic and aerobic forms of exercise, depending on intensity and intervals of activity, and stimulates muscle synthesis while simultaneously increasing muscle breakdown (Kerksick et al., 2005).
There are a couple of benefits of working out, like gaining muscle many athletes workout to obtain muscle, to prepare for sports. Then there are others who do it for competitions and other events. Most people workout to lose weight. Losing weight isa important goal to most people in just america in today's society. Some work hard to lose the extra pounds, but most say they are losing weight but are actually not putting out any effort. The most important reason tho is after you lose the weight you need to stay in shape, and healthy. Keep your body in good physical shape will help you feel better and have more energy as you grow older. These are some of the main benefits of working out.
With all the choices and methods of exercise these days, many of us are confused about what is best and what will work for them. Hopefully I can clear up some of this confusion about fitness, and talk about what methods I feel are most effective.

Physical fitness has two main classifications-performance related and health related. People have different performance related requirements in accordance with their occupation but all people have the same health related requirements (The World). Then there are two types of exercise that helps tone a person’s body while increasing its endurance. These are aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic exercise is exercise that uses the muscles and bones. Cardio activities are a good example of this, such as running or biking. This type of exercise increases the strength of a person’s heart and boosts their lung capacity. Anaerobic exercise is an intense but short amount of exercise (Payment). Since it is only for a brief amount of time, it does not require the amount of oxygen aerobic exercise does. Instead it uses glycogen which comes from the sugar in a person’s blood. An example of this exercise is weight lifting or sprinting. A person’s requires both anaerobic and aerobic exercise for good health. Simply doing a cardio work out is not healthy, and for a person to see real results there must be some activity like weight lifting (“Anaerobic”).
Physical Activity is undeniably good for everyone, not only does it keep you fit and healthy but when started at a young age, it can set up good habits for life. Sometimes however, people do not take care of their physical wellbeing, resulting in obesity and other eating disorders which can be detrimental to their health.

In fact, by statistics that would make you an average American. All the same, working out for the sake of health and well-being is becoming increasingly important as we continue to learn the effects of inactivity. There are many benefits that arrive from the presence of exercise in your daily routine. Adding exercises into one’s daily routines can change their whole lifestyle. Many people look at exercise as being something just for people who want to lose weight or to become muscle bound, but there are a great deal of benefits that can be received from exercising regularly. Of course gaining muscle and losing fat are the two most popular reasons that usually attract people to the gym, but they make up a small part of the potential benefits that can be achieved with exercise. There are several ways in which I have benefited in my life from exercising regularly, besides just making me bigger and stronger. It has made me become more organized, helped me make better decisions, and motivated me to take on new challenges in life.
