Hotel For Homeless
Introduction:
Martin Luther King Jr. tells us that “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?”. Saying that we as people have a purpose in life, our jobs are to keep ourselves up and others, because we are a whole. Even though we are not aware of people, some that we do not know, we are still one. I am the expert because I have done the research and I have seen it. I have seen people on the streets pleading for my help. They are the ones who know a value of a quarter. We should care because it is a big deal and they are people like us, human. Some people are ungrateful for what they have, and we as young adults are teaching our youth that you can waste valuables. They do not want this

People are now faking homeless for the advantage of free food or money, and we notice that and now we cannot trust no homeless person because we do not know who is helpless. That hurts those who really have needs because of someone who is careless. We as people need to do something for the people who go through the struggle. According to Maria Foscarinis, the author and an expert on homelessness, homelessness decreases 4% every year, which is very little. In the article “ Homeless problem bigger than our leaders think”(1) There are a lot of people on the street, homeless people, with needs, not like stuff we or they want, like our phones, but food and shelter, needs. According to Maria, cities are increasingly making it a crime to sleep in public places (“Homeless problem bigger than our leaders think”). Which says that numeral amount of people with no homes are also criminals. They are the one that take drugs, in the act of sex trafficking, and stealing belongings to others. Drugs can do many things to people, make them completely out of their mind. So bad that they can commit murder, imaging the people of the streets being a siko. Homelessness is a temporary condition that people fall into when they cannot afford to pay for a place to live, or when their current home is unsafe or unstable. It origin of this problem is from education, because the gaps of skill development and lack of records …show more content…
Which keeps the people off the streets and making them able to be independent again. Then there will be no population decreasing, sex trafficking, and drug usage. After all that there should also be a strict policy on schooling, so no one ends up being homeless. Less domestic violence, because of the program can teach how to be a working and single mother or father. Help teens get off and get back into school. Less of drug usage, having rehab.
The Solution: We can start a program. A program that help all causes of homelessness. We can have many programs in one, not just helping them get a house, but how to maintain it and get back on their feet. It will help the homeless be financially stable and how to carry out through the world. There will be classes that helps handle bills, own a home, get a job, and interact socially. Also they will be able stay, like a hotel, but there will be limit of staying. They will not sleep all day, they will be woken up to start classes. This can also help people who just came to America. For example, they will awake by a employee and have to dress presentable with fresh clothes. Then will be served hot breakfast and head to a class that has been assigned to them. Here are the steps to make this solution happen. To raise money, spreading awareness and let the people know what we are
“One diverse population that has continued to increase over the quarter of a century is composed of people who are homeless” (Baggerly & Zalaquett, 2006, p.155). Homelessness has become a growing problem in society because more and more people are finding themselves to be homeless and not knowing where to turn. Many people do not
We never fail never fail to hear some negative news about lots of people who is homeless and lonely, which caused that the government obligatory to exhibit the effective policies for the homelessness. In the modern society that is full of competitions, more and more individuals have lost a variety of opportunities, and most of them are poor and challenging in the daily life. So, we find that these people don’t have any income and insurance, which caused that they lose the house, and other basic conditions of life. Also, there are some children are encountering these terrible solutions. In a word, most of the humans who are homeless have underprivileged power due to the limited competence of other perspectives.
A homeless person is an individual without a permanent, stable housing situation who either spends his or her nights on the streets or in temporary facilities, such as shelters and abandoned buildings. Throughout history, society has been “holding the poor, rape or incest victims, minorities, or the handicapped responsible for their misfortunes” (Zur). Society has been blaming the homeless for being in the position they are in. However, upon closer inspection, it must be noted that “children under the age of 18 accounts for 39% of the homeless population…battered women who live in poverty are often forced to choose between abusive relationships and homelessness…[and] 40% of homeless men have served in the armed forces” (Who Is Homeless?). It is clear that those who are homeless are not
Homelessness is an issue in American society today that affects anywhere from 800,000 to 3.5 million people. There are a substantial amount of people that are without shelter, food, or employment, and there are numerous other people affected by poverty and homelessness. People living in nearly every city in the United States are affected by homelessness due to the large amounts of homeless individuals living on the streets and begging for money, food, and other necessities. The issue of homelessness has been a constant problem since the conquering of the New World, and soup kitchens and homeless shelters have not been able to fully end homelessness. Especially today, with a lack of affordable housing and high unemployment rates, homelessness is prevalent.
Homelessness has become an evolving epidemic of our time, and the health implications associated with being homeless makes it that much worse. Homeless people are at major risk for premature death and a wide range of health problems such as HIV, skin blemishes, and much more. It is very difficult for homeless people to fix their health issues due to the difficulty of accessing health care possibly because of missing health cards, or simply because of the stigma placed on them when they enter a public facility. Whatever the problem may be that is forcing more people to become homeless, it must be solved, and quickly before our world turns into a travesty.
People drive or walk past a homeless person almost every day without thinking twice about the plight of that person or they may even unconsciously turn their heads the other way in disgust. Homelessness simply put, means without a home - therefore homelessness is an equal opportunity state that can happen to anyone. Even though we have seen some economic prosperity over the years, statistics show that the number of homeless remains very high. With this in mind, communities need to come together at the state, city, and individual level to come up with solutions to mitigate the spreading of this problem.
Why should we care about homeless people? That’s the kind of attitude you can witness that people have towards the homeless. Homelessness is a pretty common occurrence which might be a reason for people’s indifference towards it. People are unaware of the circumstances surrounding the homeless, which can lead them to believe their situation is like that because of their own personal choice. That is not entirely true and it’s an issue that should be addressed properly. Everyone should have the right to a stable place to live in that meets a their needs. Society’s attitude towards the homeless needs to change. They need to realize how serious being homeless is and look for ways to end it, such as taking an initiative and volunteering and or donating to shelters.
stink. We give abuse rather than compassion, beatings rather than sympathy and avoiding eye contacts rather than addressing an issue with more vigorous action. It is clear that change must come from within ourselves but the real question is, Are we willing to
Homelessness is a critical issue that requires everyone’s attention. Hundreds of thousands of homeless people live on the streets as their shelter. Historically, homelessness has always been a problem in society. Walking through a major city or metropolitan area there are a countless number of people who are wearing old and ripped clothing, carrying bags or pushing grocery carts full of junk, looking like they have not bathed in weeks and most of them holding signs begging for change just so they can eat something that day. Over the past eight years the amount of homeless individuals has continuously decreased throughout the country. Homelessness in America is a serious problem, especially with higher rates in unemployment happening. Americans
What do people think of homelessness? People think that they are people who can’t get a job and are too lazy to work.Seeing people on the streets, some yelling at others, some sleeping on the ground with no roof over their head, digging in the recycle to get as many bottles they can for money.Imagine living on the streets with not much food to spare or and love to spread, just concrete maybe a cardboard and a small blanket is all homeless will have. We can do so much more to help them. We can give them food drives, make apartments for them, get the education they need and so much more! It would be like having a baby born and teaching its way to a good life. Homelessness is a big global problem and we can solve it just by donating, caring, volunteering, and helping the whole world become a better place and having fantastic lives. This paper will discuss about homelessness, it will be discovered in it’s history, effects, and solutions.
Although our world is developing and becoming a better place, there are still some people who are homelessness and looking for a better place to live in. People who live in busy cities have become desensitized to the homelessness problem.(4) Sometimes the problem of homelessness and housing exclusion can refer to the failure of society.(4) People who are living in busy cities have a higher chance of becoming homeless. One quarter of homeless people are children’s and thousands of them are totally alone.(2) Many people become homeless because they cannot pay the rent of their house. Over 57,000 veterans are homeless each night and more than half of them are females.(4) For people who are battling homelessness, it is nearly impossible
Homelessness is a growing problem in today’s society. Because of the economic crises, many people are losing his or her jobs because company’s had to cut back on expenses, as well as companies that have closed down completely. Furthermore because of the economic crises many mental institutions are forced to close the doors because of lack of funds. People who once had a safe healthy place to call home are being forced into homelessness and are lacking the health care needed to ensure a happy healthy life. Something has to be done to assist homeless people in finding housing and healthcare they so desperately need. Although it is not possible to solve the homeless
Lastly, one more thing the government can do to stop homeless from living on the streets is to open a place at night for them to just stay. Opening a place for homeless to come to at nights is a great thing to do. When winter months comes around, the days are going to be too cold for people to live out on the streets. Nobody can live out on the streets when the temperature is going to be below zero or close to zero. The government should start doing some of these ideas because one day it might be them that is homeless and don’t have any place to
It is time to stop looking away and ignoring the homeless situation it is something that will not go away and should not be ignored. To help the homeless we can start making donations toward helping the homeless anything helps no donation would be to small, the homeless will appreciate the donations that we make. After we get the donations going we can start putting together fundraisers and the money we get from the fundraisers can be used to start building a homeless shelter, a shelter can provide food, water, clothes and job opportunities maybe this can help boost their confidence and point them into the right direction that might give them a chance at not being homeless.
