The theme is perseverance because he persevered with his job/duty no matter what was thrown at him. The main character is Charlie Asher. He is described as a “beta-male” and not exdoridary or different throughout the books. The word used to describe him is normal. At the beginning of the story Charlie is married to a girl named Rachel and they have a daughter named Sophie. Later on in the story you meet Charlie’s sister, Jane, and you also meet a character named Minty Fresh. Charlie owns a second hand store and his employees are a Goth girl named Lily and an ex cop named Ray. Charlie has a Russian neighbor named Mrs. Korjev and a Chinese neighbor, Mrs. Ling. Closer to the end the reader is introduced to Buddhist Nun, Audrey. All of these characters are very important throughout the story. Throughout the story Charlie changes form unextraordinary to very important. The minor characters as said earlier are Rachel, Sophie, Jane, Minty Fresh, Lily, Ray, and Audrey. Radine proved to be a good friend when she accepted Jeanne, stuck by her side, and defended her. Radine, like Jeanne, was a scout girl.
