I in no way believe that Jones’ intentions for this piece were to make him or any of his volunteers become or feel victimized. That being said, due to the time period and the prevalence of the issue at hand, I believe that Croce’s statement was not completely irrelevant. Uncalled for maybe, but not irrelevant. People are always going to be afraid of the unknown and at the time, HIV/AIDS was indeed the unknown. During the creating of “Still/Here”, HIV/AIDS was not yet accepted by society as a disease. Since most society was refusing to acknowledge the issue, why would Croce want to be one of the only bystanders to not only comment on but critic the issue? On the other hand, I do feel that Croce could have separated the disease from the movement
