In the animated film, Hercules, by Walt Disney Pictures, Hercules states, “A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.” “Rikki-tikki-tavi,” a short story written by Rudyard Kipling is a story about how a mongoose, Rikki-tikki, has to kill snakes that are trying to take over the garden and killing the animals and humans. Rikki-tikki overcomes obstacles, and defeats the snakes, with the help of friends, including Darzee, a bird, and Darzee’s wife. The author of this story uses characterization and literary devices to show the reader that anyone can be a hero no matter their size.
