Analysis Of Homo Sapiens And The Hunger Games

There are a lot of questions raised throughout this course thus far, that address the key concepts that have been explored both from the readings as well as The Hunger Games. Homo Sapiens by Yuval Harari explored the various ways that homo sapiens have evolved, both good and bad. Harari identifies the trademark events in history that catapulted homo sapiens into the fast track adaptation that we had. Because of the agricultural, cognitive, and industrial revolution, homo sapiens were able to change how we see individual potential. Not only did homo sapiens evolve as a whole, but these revolutions allowed for individual strive and determination. The readings on ethics allowed for an insightful view into how cultures interact with each other and how relationships can be affected, both positively and negatively. Finally, the showing of The Hunger Games touched on dystopias and how they make for a division in society. The Hunger Games showed how imagined orders are able to take charge and manipulate the members in a community. The first question raised in the syllabus is, what is the difference between surviving and thriving? At the beginning of this class, I would have answered this question very differently. Prior to the knowledge that I now have, I would have said that they are pretty much one in the same. However, Homo Sapiens especially has proven how different these two states of emotion are.
