This art work is done by Josephine Wall. This work is an abstract art painting. This painting is a three dimensional space that will give you a different illusion of what the girl could be thinking about. It give a perspective of peace in the land. The picture give you a feeling of it may be a spring time or a summer day that she is thinking of and the weather is nice and pleasant. The painting of this picture looks as if the girl is having happy thoughts of everybody is getting along with each other. It also capture an image of the people on a hill enjoy the outside just going by their everyday life. In this picture the artist gives a lot of composition of contrast colors like blue, orange and some green. I see that a lot of the orange is
The artist paints a work of art “Chiapas Paz Mexico” which is influenced by the way of life of the people living in a river valley in Mexico. For the composition, he paints the mural by dividing two main parts by using flat form style to tell the story. He doesn’t show perspective or overlap objects on the mural. However, the right side of the mural, he paints an unrealistic shape and forms little village with buildings, trees, hills and people into the background of the mural, making them appear far away. At the top of mural, there is an army standing above the mountains of the village. The other interesting part is the old woman at the left side of the mural. She has the biggest portrait on black the background and is separated from a part of the village by the 3 soldiers. However, there is a rainbow ribbon connecting two parts together and the woman is a starting point of the rainbow. The rainbow ribbon shows the movement from the old woman to the river at the bottom right and continues moves
Jeannette Walls uses imagery to give the reader a clear insight to what she is think and what is going on in her mind. An example of this would be when she said, “Until then, when I thought of writers, what first came to mind was Mom, hunched over her typewriter, clattering away on her novels and plays and philosophies of life and occasionally receiving a personalized rejection letter. (204) In seventh grade Jeannette is the first person her age to work for the school newspaper, The Maroon Wave and this depicts the imagery in her head. She uses her own experiences with her family to influence and inspire her writing making her a great writer. The imagery in this book takes the reader to another level with understanding how the author truly sees the world.
These works were beautiful, but some of them were very attractive to author. Therefore, it was difficult to choose just one artifact to describe. It took some times, but finally one decided a painting. This picture was used for the summer 2017 pamphlet cover. This painting is untitled (Woman on Beach) by David Burliuk. He painted it in 1945. In addition, the painter used the watercolor on paper; the paper's size is 14 3/4 x 11 1/4 in. David used many dark colors such as indigo, gray, and black. The woman in the painting, she looks like tanned or Native American. David Burliuk was a futurist. The futurism was started from the early 20th century. During this time period, the technology was developed and people started to accept it. And then, the futurists tried to express the motion and its after-image. According to drawer's background, by one's perception, there is a woman who is dancing on the beach. She is moving her arms up and down. It seems like, David tried to draw a woman's motion. Additionally, the woman is wearing like a primate person, who lived between 1400 to 1800BC. Furthermore, the beach where she stands, it looks like she is in the island. The image of the island and beach is somewhere to relax and enjoy. Moreover, the painter didn't name his figure. One thinks, the painter may wanted the viewers see the picture and imagine the freedom of the movement and named it themselves, instead of stay in the tunnel vision. On the other hand, simply the artist didn't want to title it. Most of the artists are unique and odd. They have their own world and vision; they are sensitive and emotional, difficult to
The space of the artwork makes it feel as if the woman and the children are coming out at you. The texture is implied because you feel like you can almost feel how their skin would feel or what it would feel like if you were to just run your hand down the body of the artist's main focal point. I'm not really too confident on the lines of this painting only because there are so many ways that she did her brush strokes, you have some thin lines but you also have thicker and darker lines that give off a brooding feeling or almost depressive feel. Her color choices were spot on because of the browns, grays, blue tinges, and off white colors, it makes you feel semi-depressed but only so that you can get a feel of how other women may be feeling somewhere in the world. Shaping’s of this are very much implied so that you can see the children that she is holding in her arms and the way her eyes and face look so sad and how you can see that she's trying to push through for her kid's
The artwork that I did was by an artist named Sue Andrew. Sue makes paintings of beautiful Paraguayan landscapes and tropical scenes. Her artwork has won many awards and she has sold some of her artwork. Her paintings include portraits and landscapes. The painting that I remade was inspired by the trip the Sue took to Paraguay, it shows her sense of the country and how she believes that Paraguay is magical. The painting is very colorful and captures the true image of Paraguay and how beautiful the place is. I chose this painting because I thought that all of Sue’s paintings were very imaginative and creative. Sue’s paintings were very different than the other paraguayan paintings.
The first work of art, illustrated by Kehinde Wiley, appears to give a realistic feel to the audience. As the painting of the man, the horse, and the sword appears as neither abstract, nor nonobjective. I can see that the painting is oil on canvas. In the background of his painting, it is dark red at the top, and pink towards the middle of the background, with a shade of white just above the neutral scheme of different brown shades representing the muddy ground. The white in the background probably represents the horizon. If you zoom in very, very closely, you can see what looks like a military cannon towards the right side of the painting, emphasizing the environment of a battle soldier. The horse is painted neutrally as well, white,
The overall scene of the painting presents the idea of peace. The depiction of the woman who is the focus of painting has a very relaxed pose. When looking upon her figure, her shoulders are rested, one of her hands rest lazily placed by her side while the other rests on the top of an orange box. Though we do not see her face because of the way she is turned, the angle we do get presents her focused, gazing upon the field as if she is lost in her
This painting shows around five colors being used; red, green gold, pink and white. These colors mean so much in every day life. The form shows how lines play a big role in the body as they're symmetric all around the torso, but when connected to the head it seems to turn into scribbles that look like flowers
The portrait is displayed horizontally with a gold trimmed frame. The subject is a female that looks to be in her early 20’s sitting upright on a large brown chair. If the viewer travels up the painting the first indication of the woman’s class is her satin, blue dress. The saturated blue shines and falls in the light like water. Paired with the dress are her exceptionally detailed endings to her sleeves. The lace is even painted as though it is translucent, allowing a little of the blue dress to show through the sleeve. Flowers throughout history have symbolized innocence of a woman and her virginity. The repeating theme of flowers, in the sleeve cuffs and ribbon) in the woman’s attired suggests her purity or innocent nature. Another very details section of the painting includes the corset/torso details. The sewing suggests texture in the torso with small beading in between. Towards the top of the chest in the center, the female seems to bear an extravagant, ribbon piece with a tear drop bead in the center. The light pink
This unique work of art by Madison Bragg captured my attention instantly. I was captivated by the abstract and informal form of the paintings and the colours themselves caught my attention as well- with a primary mixture of cool blue and yellow tones. I chose to do the standard discursive portion of the project, as I wouldn’t consider myself to be a particularly creative person. On the other hand, I do love and admire art and therefore I figured the fine arts section of the discursive project would fit perfectly. I really enjoyed being able to check out the art at the Owen’s Art Gallery, and was surprised just how amazing the pieces were. Upon seeing the piece, I instantly formulated an opinion on what it meant to me.
The idea of this piece is to show the connection between mother and daughter being painted. It shows the time and the classic style of the
This part of the painting has not one shape in common, which makes it unique and makes it stand out from the rest of the piece. All the objects look as if the painter swiftly moved the soft, bristles of the brush on the wall. Some of the shapes are plant-like, which are either green or a whitish blue color. These shapes are more near the face of this image and coming down the side of the face. Some shapes are either thin lines, dots, or larger circular shapes that almost look like a swirl. The swirl figures are all different colors and range from blue, green, pink, orangish red, yellow, and some black. The swirls are randomly throughout, but each of them connect or in some way touch another swirl or figure. Beneath the swirls is a light tan color that is the wall that the piece has been created on. This part of the painting beside the face reminds me of what is happening inside a person’s head. The colorful patterns and shapes reflect just how amazing the brain might be functioning because of everything that is stored in their heads. For example, creativity, knowledge, emotions, and so much more that make each person unique in their own way. This part of the piece has so many different colors and shapes it represents the different things that humans, and the girl in this particular piece, have constant, active
The painting shows the left side profiles of all the subjects involved. The main focus is Ruby, a dark skinned female child, painted slightly towards the left. She is looking up straight ahead, with an indifferent
The artwork is a realistic portrait of a women. It is abstracted with asymmetrical balance with exotic and vibrant colors. As if the women is sitting in the corner with two
"A picture can paint a thousand words." I found the one picture in my mind that does paint a thousand words and more. It was a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture in the writing center; the writing center is part of State College. The beautiful colors caught my eye. I was so enchanted by the painting, I lost the group I was with. When I heard about the observation essay, where we have to write about a person or thing in the city that catches your eye. I knew right away that I wanted to write about the painting. I don’t know why, but I felt that the painting was describing the way I felt at that moment.
