Passage #1: Tobias crouches in front of me, his hand on my left shoulder. The train car bumps over the rails, and Marcus, Peter, and Caleb stand by the doorway. I take a deep breath and hold it in an attempt to relieve some of the pressure that is building in my chest. This is one of the first paragraphs in the book. It really gives a clear message to what this story is really going to entail. For example, the grief Tris will have to accommodate to for killing her friend Will. How she and Tobias are now fugitives and must never stay in one place for too long. Lastly, how Tobias and her relationship forms and grows. The Divergent series basically tell one big story. The first book explains the necessary facts you’ll need to understand the plot. The second book gets into more details and basically builds you up for the third and final book. I don’t want to spoil the ending but let’s just sat this is the biggest plot twist you’ll find in the
The war was terrible, the whole world was destroyed. The last city left divided themselves into five factions to keep the peace. The smart ones are classified Erudite. Amity are always kind, Candor value honesty, Dauntless are brave, and Abnegation are selfless. The system works because everyone knows where they belong; everyone except for Tris. In 16th century France marriage is not seen as a bond between two people that love each other. It is instead seen as a man and wife being arranged together as one to assume duties of gender roles such as the woman having children and taking care of the house, fields, children, and husband. The man assumes the role of working and passing on family traditions such as working the land and tending to livestock. Martin Guerre and Bertrande go through the exact same custom except Bertrande is not an everyday 16th century woman. She is independent and does not want to conform to customs she does not wholeheartedly agree with. So when Martin Guerre leaves, Bertrande sees his departure as an opportunity, especially

In Truman Capote’s captivating nonfiction, In Cold Blood, Capote ventures through the journey and lives of both the killed and the killers all while analyzing the point in which they crossed paths. From the days before the four Clutters were murdered to the last moments of the two killers’ lives, Capote takes into account each and every aspect that creates the ‘famous’ Clutter Case with an in depth look of just how and why these strange and unforeseeable events occurred. What was originally supposed to only be an article in a newspaper turned into an entire book with Capote analyzing both how and why a murder comes to be through the use of pathos, juxtaposition, and foreshadowing.
This shows Tris has grown up enough to realize the true meaning of those closest to you. Another time Tris shows that she has changed is by starting to wear her hair down and get a tattoo. The tattoo is of three ravens on her left collarbone which symbolize her irrational fear of being pecked to death by a flock of ravens. She decided she wanted this tattoo to express how she has overcome her fear. Also when Tris falls in love with Tobias, or Four, she realizes love is a power in itself.
I believe that the theme of The Outsiders is that: “Not everybody is like what you think they are”. This is proven to be true because of these next three paragraphs show how.

The purpose of this quote is to foreshadow what the crime does to the community and how the death of four lives not only ruins the lives of the murderers but also the townspeople. Holcomb was described in the previous paragraphs as a peaceful place where nothing bad could have ever happened. However, the author uses phases such as “lock their doors” to portray how Holcomb and the people that live there had their lives change drastically. Capote also uses the phrase “and as strangers” to show how a very close community transforms into a town where no one feels safe and secure. The effectiveness of this quote comes from how Capote describes the townspeople and what affect it has on their everyday lifestyles.
