The protagonist is a 16 year old girl named Rachel. I think Rachel is one of those shy girls that don't like to talk to anybody like her crush Steve Millar and his mean sister Brianna. And thus all happens when Rachel sees Steve and the drama comes in.

A supernatural event is an event which, according to the laws of nature, cannot happen. In the two works that I have studied “Like water for chocolate” by Laura esquivel and “The house of the spirits” by Isabel allende, magic realism has been used as a common literary device to give the book a fantasy-like twist, making it very interesting and engaging.

During the Communist regime in the former Soviet Union, life was very difficult. The people who lived within the countries controlled by the Soviet government experienced levels of oppression akin to slavery. They could not express themselves through any means and had to conform both body and soul to the views of the Communist Party. Now that the Soviet Union has broken up and Russia is its own country there is more freedom, but the people still live under the yoke of an oppressive leader who does not tolerate political or social challenges. The people do nothing to stand up to this government because they have all been scarred by the decades they lived under Stalin.

The title of this book is Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. It was published on August 31 in 2010. The author of this book (Kiersten White) lives near her family by the ocean in San Diego. She is the New York, Best New York Times bestselling author of the Paranormalcy trilogy, The Chaos of Stars, Perfect Lies, and Mind Games.
