In the article “Beliefs and practices of Brazilian EFL teachers regarding pronunciation”, the author Larissa Buss (2016) presents research, which concerns about beliefs and practices of EFL teachers in Brazil, and interpret the research data and findings. In this research, quantitative and qualitative methods are both used to conduct the research and collect data and findings (Robson, 2011). Quantitative and qualitative social researchers had a good debate because researchers compare them from various perspectives and fundamentally based on different principles (Bryman, 2006b). Therefore, the epistemological divisions, especially the incompatibility of quantitative and qualitative research, may lead to a newer thinking such as mixed methods research. In this essay, I would evaluate the strengths and weakness of this research in literature review, methodology, statistics, and methods, and I would particularly pay attention to the method section.

Therefore, it is clear and explicit enough to show readers a general idea before they read the whole article.
