In the James Gray’s article, “Our World Stopped and We Got Off,” is a reflection of his years in the Twenties before his destitute situation in the Great Depression. Before he and his family were dependent on relief help, which he found a humiliating experience of his life, he was living an exhilarating lifestyle. A lifestyle with promotions and pay raises that came rapidly.
