Rhonda turned and looked at me. “Nothing at all. You’re the preacher’s kid and that’s the only reason she hates you. I know, it makes no sense at all, but it’s Blair. Little about that chick makes any sense to me.” She was now thumbing through my book and DVD collection. “That makes no sense at all. How can you hate someone you don’t even know?” “I have no idea.” Rhonda was by the DVD player. She picked up my copy of East of Eden. The original black and white one, not the crummy remake. “Great movie, can we watch it?” My eyes lit up. “Do you have any idea how hard it is to find people my age that have seen and love this movie?" I clicked play on the remote and the television fluttered to life. “Your room is awesome by the way, over the garage for an easy escape, just in case, of course." Rhonda smiled. “Not gonna happen." I plopped on my bed and leaned against the wall. “I’m already going to be grounded for an eternity. Sneaking out my window would be grounds for the electric chair." I smiled back. “All right, so enough small talk. What was that thing that came out of the vent?" Rhonda sat down cross-legged. “You saw it?” I sat up straight. “Duh! It’s hard to miss a ginormous spider, don’t you think?” She laughed. Well, that was unexpected. “I haven’t a clue." I shrugged my shoulders. “Okay, so what did it mean by the calling and gifts?” “Again, I haven’t a clue. I, mean…unless…” “Oh, you know something, don 't you?" Rhonda’s stare was making me uncomfortable. “I sorta
In the book Night and the movie, Schindler’s List, the protagonists go through major changes due to their experiences of the Holocaust, a period in history no man would want to envision. Schindler’s List is created to convey a different side for the tragic time in history, an ordinary businessman. This businessman, Oskar Schindler, wants to prove that there will be hope in this desperate time. However, the motive behind Night is different. In Night, the author Elie Wiesel aims to describe his experiences in the Holocaust to avoid the past from reoccurring. Hence, Night is more effective in demonstrating Holocaust education through characterization. As the characters undergo changes in the novel, the goal of the author is attained.
“Let's go check it out. I mean we still have like 2 hours till curfew.” Sarah confidently says.
“Fine.” Anderson sighed. “But we have to make sure you and your family are safe somewhere other than your home, as you could all be at risk.”
“I-I-I just don’t… I just… Oh I don’t know, what did you have in mind.” Liz spit out.
“If only she felt the same way Walker, you treat her like nothing,” continuing to slur his words.
"Why did Mildred stay at your house? as I recall you give her the creeps" She says.
The woman shot him a scathing look. “I ain’t in the habit of beatin’ up kids, Daryl. Grab what he’s got, I’m leavin’ with this one.” She grabbed the young boy’s shoulder, shaking it. “See if he ‘as anythin’ nice for my Catherine.”
"Please, we rarely deal with him," Sierra commented with a glare a tear in the ground opening up. "We deal with Seth."
Fiona asked, “How did the family take a small child giving them that kind of information?”
“Haha you're kidding, right?” she laughs and raises her eyebrows. “because that movie is for like 5 year olds! She laughs to herself again.
His eyes wide, Gwaine reached for the remote and stopped the movie. “Then why are we watching this crap? Let’s watch ‘A Knight’s Tale’ instead. That’s an awesome movie.”
“Cause you are and your a blood- sucking liar. You . . .” Tyler began, but I cut him off.
“You never liked your cousin Rachael and nor will you ever,” he said, “You were jealous of her and you’re jealous of
“Why do you gotta bully her like that? I mean what has she ever done to you?”
In Michael Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), the connections between people and memories become the focal point of a very unique romance. Through the use of new technology, the possibility of erasing memories makes painful relationships disappear like they never happened. The tale of Joel and Clementine allows the audience to rethink and question the process they undergo as beneficial or destructive. Though the process might be helpful in eliminating the pain caused from another person, four key scenes show how the lessons learned through relationship experiences are important.
