Current TV Sitcom that illustrates a particular family form other than a nuclear family.

While the show has been called "the biggest hit comedy of the past decade" by the New York Times, is currently ranked #3 (or was). I have chosen the sitcom Two and a Half Men, however I don’t watch very often I know this show has been updated with some of the characters, but still the same background. The series revolved initially around the life of the Harper brothers: Charlie is a bachelor who writes commercial jingles for a living while leading a risky lifestyle. When Alan 's (Charlie’s brother) wife Judith decides to divorce him, he moves into Charlie 's beach house, with Jake (Alan’s son) coming to stay over the weekends. Charlie 's housekeeper is Berta, a sharp-tongued woman who initially resists the change to the household but grudgingly accepts it. Evelyn, the conceited mother of Charlie and Alan (grandmother of Jake), who goes as far as to try to sell her son 's home during his funeral, Charlie 's one-night stand Rose was first introduced as his stalker in the pilot episode.
This show is very typical of stereo typing. It gives women a bad name and shows how some men portray women as play toys and then toss them when done. These episodes play off of the stereotype that men think about sex every other second, feeding into the inadequacy of parenting skills placing their needs before their children.
