The main character, a young, German man named Peter Muller, was very traumatized by what the Nazi's and Gestapo (the terrorist political police of the Nazi regime founded by Hermann Göring, whose purpose was to persecute all political opponents of the Nazi regime) did to his father. Over the course of the movie, Peter went through a change; he saw his father in a new light, and realized what really mattered in the world around him. Peter's father was a violinist and professor at the university. He spoke out against the expulsion of the Jewish professors and the entire Nazi movement. Carrie was more of a quiet person who never did anything to anyone. She worked hard on her grades. She wasn’t a very outgoing person. The movie, The Hammer, tells the story of a Deaf boy, Matt Hamill, who grows up to become the first Deaf wrestler to win the NCAA Wrestling Championship and accomplishes this three years in a row. The movie is an inspiring true story of what Matt Hamill experiences throughout his childhood and adolescence as a Deaf person living in a hearing world. Furthermore, the film gives the hearing culture an idea of what it is like to be Deaf and the trials and tribulations that some Deaf people face.

Despite having an archetypal storyline, The Princess Bride proves to be anything but predictable. From the moment the title appears onscreen in a font that evokes classic fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty, it is clear the story is going to be rooted in fantasy. Following the appearance of the title comes the sound of a child’s cough as the black screen gives way to the graphics a baseball video game. The camera pans around the room to reveal posters of Chicago Cubs and Bears players, and soon rests on a child, presumably the source of the cough. Thus, the mise-en-scene has introduced to one of our two narrators, the other being the child’s grandfather who comes to read him a story. Though the novel read by the grandfather conveys a hackneyed tale of undying love, the film frames this in a self-aware way with periodic interruption of the story’s narrative by comments from young boy which are cynical at first, by grow to reflect a genuine interest as the movie progresses. This move is self-reflexive in that it reminds the audience that they are, in fact, watching a move; however, this serves to elevate the meaning of the film. Through the use of sound, editing, and mise-en-scene, The Princess Bride emphasizes that even though the concept of true love has saturated society and become cliché, it’s no less potent because of the cultural overplay. Ex Machina goes above and beyond when it comes to science fiction and philosophy, if anything the movie leaves us with more question than answers. In the movie we are introduced to Caleb, a person we think has won the lottery only to find out he was chosen to be a participant for a Turing Test against AI, Ava, to see if she can pass as human. We are also introduced to Nathan who is the AI’s father of some sorts, he is wild, crazy genius that throughout the movie we are never sure if he is trustable or not. Love stories have been around for centuries, as ever changing as they have been one thing stays constant, a happily ever after ending. Each story might be perceived differently but each story has the unique ability to capture all that seek to find their own happy ending. Children are attracted to Cinderella and stories like it because they believe if you are morally good there has to be a happily ever after for them. Victor’s adventures in the land of the dead tear him between his new wife and his intended bride, while teaching him more about himself and those around him. Throughout the film, the elegantly lifelike clay figures portray the lifelessness of the living juxtaposed with the liveliness of the dead in Victorian Europe.
