Between 1863 and 1868, when Jebidiah Smith was first provided access to the Book of Gates and his interpretations of the Dlothian text was being recorded, the Seer Stone of Dloth given to him by the Eemian prophet Izal had dual benefits. Not only could he pass the glowing blue stone over the pages of the book to change the characters into English, but on the opposite side of the Seer Stone, as the translator stated, he could see pictures of ancient Yidath as it was during the Archean. Seeing the lost continent as it was some 4.5 billion years ago impressed Jebidiah Smith greatly, and as such in 1869, for numerous newspapers and prehistoric exhibits, he created the Yidathian Dioramas with models and impressionist landscapes he had noted in the
Approximately ten miles from downtown Atlanta, one thousand six hundred eighty-three feet above sea level stands Stone Mountain. Stone Mountain is, simply, an enormous rock that is made of granite. The mountain can be seen from Kennesaw Mountain (West), Amicalola Falls State Park (North), and Mount Yonah (Northeast). Surrounding Stone Mountain is the city of Stone Mountain. On February 21, 1958 the governor of Georgia, Marvin Griffin, signed the bill which authorized Stone Mountain to become a state-run park and allowed it the authority to receive money from bonds granted by the state. Since that day, the park has added many different attractions and hosted multiple different events which, to this day, are very popular.

If you’re anything like me and you see this painting of “The Rock” by Peter Blume (1944), you may wonder what in the world is going on in the picture. At our first look, we see the obvious; the enormous rock Peter Blume placed right in the center. After looking at the scenery going on, I think that the placement and size of the rock is proportioned that way as a sign of it being significant. The way I see it, the monument plays an important role when it comes down to determining why there are so many things going on at once in the painting. With the comparison of the details of the hard working people to the broken rock, half built building, and the smoke, I will establish the reasons of why this picture shows both destruction and loyalty- and the ways destruction in this painting also results in uniting the people working.

Stone mountain has remained a very influential monument of Georgia; a gem of what may say to the state’s tourism and a landmark of American history throughout the ages. Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. It was created by a council of priests to honor Ptolemy V. The Rosetta stone was made when Greeks began to rule Egypt. On the stone the same passage is written three times. Once in hieroglyphics, demotic, and Greek. The passage was written in hieroglyphics because the Egyptians used this script for important or religious documents. The passage was written in demotic because this was the common script for the Egyptians. The passage was written in Greek because when the Rosetta stone was being made the rulers of Egypt were Greek descendants. The Rosetta stone was written in three different languages so that all the people of Egypt could read what it said. The Rosetta stone was carved in 196 B.C. The Rosetta stone states all the good things that the Egyptian pharaoh has done for the priests and the people of
The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has been described by numerous scholars and biblical commentators as one of the most important finds in archeological history. (Top 10 Most Important Historical Finds) The find occurred in 1947 when a Bedouin shepherd came across sealed jars in a cave containing leather scrolls. The scrolls which were subsequently brought to an antiques dealer in Bethlehem were purchased by a Syrian Orthodox Archbishop named Mar (Athanasius) Samuel. ( HYPERLINK "http://bible.org/byauthor/2658/Patrick%20Zukeran" Zukeran) He recognized that the scrolls were in Hebrew and were possibly very ancient. These scrolls were then examined by a prominent Middle East archaeologist, Dr. William Albright, and were confirmed as originating between the first and second century B.C. During Ernest Hemingway’s time in Paris, 1921-26, he frequented the Musée du Luxembourg where he encountered the work of Paul Cézanne (1839-1906). Hemingway cites the post-impressionistic painter as a major influence multiple times, but does so in a particularly enlightening manner within his posthumously published memoir, A Moveable Feast, from 1964: “I was learning something from the painting of Cézanne that made writing simple true sentences far from enough to make the stories have the dimensions that I was trying to put in them. I was learning very much from him but I was not articulate enough to explain it to anyone. Besides it was a secret” (13). There were many things Hemingway saw when he looked at Cézanne’s artwork in the Musée

The Rosetta Stone was a crucial part of deciphering hieroglyphs for mankind. The Rosetta Stone is a large piece of dark grey granite. Carved by the Egyptians in 196 B.C., the Stone contains a portion of text reflected in three scripts. One of the scripts, Hieroglyphs, had not been deciphered when the Stone was discovered. Ever since ancient times, humans have used their uniquely creative minds to organize and construct awe-inspiring architecture. Our planet, once an empty canvas for human innovation, is now coated with manmade constructions. But before towering skyscrapers, grand hotels, and modern chapels came into existence, the world was bejeweled with ancient forms of engineering. Two of the more popular constructions from the ancient world include Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids at Giza. These incredible megaliths are seemingly very different, but share various similarities, and both help archaeologists gain insight to the religious beliefs and socio-political organization of the people who constructed them.
The topic of random drug testing has been a very controversial one, especially in the last few years. RSDT (random student drug testing) made a rise in popularity after being legalized by the United States Supreme Court in 2006. This ruling made testing students who participate in extracurriculars or drive to school able to be tested for illegal drug abuse. This court decision is like many others in the aspect that some strongly agree and others heavily disagree. One side of opinions agrees with the court 's ruling and believes that RSDT programs help prevent drug abuse among the student population. Other people think that the programs infringe on the rights of students and offer no usefulness in the fight against
