Right or Left? In the story, The Lady Or The Tiger, the king places you in the coliseum, where you will decide your fate. The King's judicial system is not fair because you cant either be forced into marriage or get ripped to pieces by a tiger, and it's also used to entertain the townsfolk. "But, if the accused person opened the other door, there came forth from it a lady... and to this lady he was immediately married..."(Pg. 2) When the King places you in the coliseum, you have to choose between two doors. I don't believe it's right to make somebody choose between life or death. I think that the King should give a fair trial and allow the people to decide if the person is guilty or not guilty. "...there came out of it a hungry tiger...
Imagine this--you’ve committed a crime that has caught the king’s attention. You are innocent nevertheless, he sentences you to a trial in his new arena where you unknowingly pick between two doors. One of the doors holds a snarling tiger that would viciously pounce in a second and the other holds a beautiful lady for you to marry. It seemed unfair that your life depends on chance but you knew no one would question the king. During the trial, you stand before a large crowd, pondering which door contained the hungry tiger and which contained the angelic maiden.
From the “Lady and the Tiger” the king uses the thrilling anticipation of death or happiness to control his citizens. Instead of his people revolting he enetrintians his people to keep him power. If I was in the princess shoes i would have told my lover to chose the door with the lady in it. Even if that means letting the person you love be with someone you hate. This decision shows about people who care about others then themselves. Do you really want to see someone you care about get punished? because you weren't happy with the outcome. At first, it might be emotional but at the end you start a realize it was for the best. On the other hand if you were to decide his fate and would've let him chose the tiger therefore bringing out selfishness. Could you live up knowing that you ' killed ' someone? and could have prevented it from happening. Certain people would be outrage since they can't get the person they want at the end then decides
When I was younger, my mom, younger sister and I went to eat at Rubios. My sister and I both ordered a kids meal - it came with a free churro! I finished my meal faster than her, so I waited until she was done to start eating my dessert. I ate my churro slowly while she continued to eat at a normal pace. Now, with her meal done, I could rub the fact in her face: “I have a dessert and you don’t”.
Doing something new can be terrifying and freighting. The hardest thing that I’ve had trouble with is doing things in front of people. When onlookers stare at me it makes me feel awkward. The summer of two thousand and eleven, I made the volleyball team at Covington High School so, that meant this would put me in front of a lot of people. My team name was The Lady Lions. The Lady Lions and I have practiced all summer long for our first game. Unfortunately the first Monday of school was my first game. Monday’s arrival at school came fast! The game was at the end of the school day but, the more I thought about it the more nervous it was. This was a new situation for me because I’ve never been in front of a crowd that big.
