Never Changing You should always be who you are and let no one judge you as Geisel says; “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind” (Geisel). Theodor Seuss Geisel could always speak great words about life. What his words mean to me in this quote is that you should not let anyone bring you down by the way you look, talk, or see other people. You have to stand up for yourself no matter what. No matter what your friends or family say, you should always stay true to yourself. The people that believe in you will listen to you, and those who do not believe in you will not. Never let the world judge you. This quote relates to the life of teenagers in a huge way. The quote teaches …show more content…
Another example is the general public. The public needs to live by this quote because the world needs life changers. Some people in this world have great ideas and some even have billions of dollars held to their name and all their doing right now is sitting and thinking of how bad the world is. Instead of sitting around and doing nothing about this terrible place that we live in, people like them could be bringing their great ideas to change the world to make it a better place. The world could be a great place right now and have a very limited number of crimes per year, but it is not. The world is going to be torn down piece by piece, by us, the people if we do not stop everything that is happening right now: war, terrorist groups, hunger, pollution, etc. These things are what humans are causing and we can still stop it, even though it will be very hard. Nobody is changing the war problem. Some federal agencies are very slowly trying to stop terrorist groups. Some billionaires are trying to help the world hunger problem by donating millions or even billions of dollars, but still barely helping. Elon Musk is the big game changer in vehicle pollution because he has made a car company called Tesla. The bad thing about his vehicles is that they they are just too expensive. Even though all of these people that are apart of groups/agencies that are trying to change the world are great-there is still not enough of them to make a
There was a time back in grade school when I was people had the unjust judgment of who I am as a person because I was a little different from everyone else. I have always been bigger in size than most people and that hasn’t changed today. I would wear different attire than other people because of the area I grew up in and the size of me. I would also be into hip hop music because of who I grew up with; however, I was the only one that only listened to hip hop because everyone was raised to not listen to the language they spoke in those songs. When I was a kid and didn’t dress or look like everyone else it would be difficult for me to be included in some groups either out of fear by some of the smaller
They won’t be able to go out on their own when they get out of college because their parents have done absolutely everything for them in life. They aren’t going to even know how to turn a stove on, they aren’t going to know how to do their own laundry, they aren't going to know how to be polite to somebody when they mess up, they aren't going to know how to do the most simplest things in life because they were consumed with the degree of the triangle if the leg was ten cm and the hypotenuse was twenty-three cm. The child generation is consumed of things that aren’t that important in life, they are now missing their personalities. They are missing their foundation of an
Do you wonder what it is like for people who are different? How their life is affected by others opinions and thoughts? “Society looks down upon freakish and extraordinary individuals alike and views them with suspicion… they especially fear loners, those mysterious creatures who pursue their own values…?” (par.4). This quote from, “The Sociology of Leopard Man,” can be true to some people because society does do this to people who are different. Many people can agree with this statement about society looking down on individuals with different thoughts. These individuals change their appearance to get attention and no matter what they do society will not like these individuals beliefs. These are reasons why society looks at them in a bad way.
own choices to please themselves because all their success and strength lies within themselves, but they must make the choice to use it or not by speaking out about their beliefs. Therefore people can shape their own path when they chose to stand up. People usually say or do something when it pleases others, but they should do something because it cause them to be happy. This idea can impact the lives of others in a positive way, whether or not others are happy with their decisions. I am Malala and Fahrenheit 451 tells how much standing up for whatever they believe in, even though people may disagree, can create a positive difference in others lives.
Zealous and aspiring teens have numerous expectations for their upcoming adulthood life and desire the wonders that are yet to come. Similar to the boy in the poem “Fifteen”, William Stafford writes about the speaker who struggles between temptation and integrity. Through the use of irony and symbolism, Stafford enhances that the act of maturity is not dependent on age. He accentuates the morals and virtues in which the teenage boy acts upon. With a covetous tone, he portrays that no matter the age, maturity is justified by the decisions people make.
Today is another boring day staying at Eli place. These couple of days that past were very silent between Eli and I. After that night, he revealed Marie baby might be he’s was very upsetting, but at the same time it didn’t hit me like how I thought it was going to hit me.
This quote can be used for today’s society as well. When something in our society does not work, the people of our country take actions. One example of this is our gun control laws. When
In reality the quote is becoming more viable by the day. With an abundance of distractions in life, occasionally everyone loses focus on what is important. With commodities such as social media, thousands of TV shows and movies, and game consoles, people are not just losing their humanity, they are destroying it. The common public is turning into a mass of zombies that have to look at their phone every two seconds to check social media and to text people that they (the public) might not even like. Rarely will people go out and enjoy the beauty of nature and the simple blessings such as birds making eloquent music or leaves changing colors during
Teenagers are more than capable of achieving great tasks in the future as well as causing great destruction with every skill stapled in their mind as they grow. Good and evil will determine the effects of which path a young mind its taught so that’s why parents must educated well with good intensions for a better future. The age of a teenager shows history how it transformed the world including the United States by family values, the high school, and dangerous adolescences etc. What teenagers did was start a fashion changing the world and its rules, becoming rebellious toward their parents values for
As Dr. Seuss once said, “I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.” Theodor Seuss Geisel, formally known as Dr. Seuss, is considered by many people to be one of the most influential authors and illustrators of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. With over sixty books written and illustrated, many of them rewarded, Seuss left a lasting impact on kids and adults all over the world. Seuss’ stories appear in households and libraries all over the world, making him the most popular children’s book author. According to Publisher’s Weekly, Seuss’ books appear numerous times on the top best selling children’s books of all time. Seuss not only provided unforgettable stories for children to read all over the globe, but he set a precedent for many films, stories, and television shows in decades to come. Seuss is famous for not only his witty drawings and words, but also the unforgettable message he leaves for the reader. His characters are provided with a fearful or unfortunate situation, but through Seuss’ positive writing attitude, his characters learn a lesson
“Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever" (Aristophanes). This quote has several different meanings to it, one meaning this quote has is since we are young we don’t always make the best decisions. We don’t like to admit what we did was wrong,or we think we are always right.
This one is simple but I must go over it. Respect. This respect deal can make or break you. I mean the first person you should respect is yourself. Afterall the only thing you actually own is yourself. This could mean that you are in control of how you speak, think, and what you do. If you are completely aware of that then good, I’m proud. The world goes in the same pattern every year. What you put out in this world, it will come back to you. Therefore respect yourself and all those around you because from the outside we look different, but we all need the same things to be happy
This quote is important because it criticizes the people in the world who destroy the environment. Our environment is unbelievably important to us, and tons of the people living in it take it for granted. Although we rely on our environment for everything, rarely do we ever take the time to take care of it. This quote really touched me because I feel as if I was one of these people for the longest time. Although I did not purposefully go out to destroy my environment, I was not mindful of my actions towards it either.
Do not become so caught up in society and trying to be accepted that you forget just who you truly are. You are you and society does not dictate that. You may be different than what people want and when they lash out at you it just shows that they’ve forgotten, or never have been who they truly are. If you don’t agree with someone’s beliefs, you shouldn’t verbally or physically attack them. You shouldn’t hate them either for being someone they want to be. Dislike their views if you must but do not forget that even then, they can be one of your greatest friends if you would just give them a chance.
You shouldn’t live your life completely independent from what others think. Many times, peers can inform you when you’re being hurtful or negative, to yourself and others. Also, many times things you love, or clothes you want to wear will match up with what most people like, or what is currently in fashion. There is nothing wrong with that either. The goal isn’t to become a hipster, constantly fleeing the center for the fringe. The goal is do, and be, whatever speaks to you. This go out the window if what fulfills you involves hurting others. But if what you’re doing makes you happy, or improves the quality of your life, why let others opinions stand in the way of that? What’s the point of having a special someone, or a best friend if you have to throw a facade on everyday when you walk out the door? Embrace yourself, and others will
