Analysis of Two of Carrie Underwood¨s Songs: Before He Cheats and Just a Dream

Did you know that Carrie Underwood earned college credit from being on American Idol? She is an American country singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Underwood has since become a multiplatinum selling recording artist, a winner of six Grammy awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards, among several others. There are two songs that she has that have caused me to fall in-love with her music; “Just A Dream” and “Before He Cheats.” There are ways to show how these are similar and different by using several aspects such as; the emotion, the type of love, and the events of the song.
Every song can make one feel the emotion of the song. Depending on the song whether it is “Before He Cheats” or “Just A Dream” will show different emotions. In the song “Before He Cheats,” “I took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights, a hole in all 4 tires… Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.” This emotion you can say is anger, she is also heartbroken but past the crying and sad part of it but to the point of anger and hatred. This song can really get you pumped up and hating all the cheaters in the world. In the song “Just A Dream” her emotion starts out somewhat happy, “It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen, All dressed in white, Going to the church that night, She had his box of letters in the passenger seat, Sixpence in a shoe,
