An ISDMA will summarize and analyse data in order to identify any problems with the data and determine the availability of appropriate data (Becerra-Fernandez & Sabherwal 2014). It is only after this stage has occurred, that an ISDMA will decide whether data qualifies for information or not. This stage in knowledge management is crucial for accentuating the validity of data sources by shedding light on important matters. McInerney and Koenig (2011) note that summarizing and analysing data also plays an important role in data quality evaluation by identifying data quality issues. Once data has qualified as information, an ISDMA will subject it to the last stage, which is synthesis of information and decision-making. Peffers, et al. (2007) notes that synthesizing information is essentially linked to determining its significance. For instance, if an ISDMA learns that the data is important, he or she will later go through the stages of organising, recollecting and restructuring the information in order to fit is to what is currently known. According to Denyer and Tranfield, synthesis concerns organising the different pieces of information to generate a greater meaning (2006). Unless information has any form of significant knowledge, it is valueless to the organisation. After synthesising information, an ISDMA will combine information from several sources and organise them for storage purpose and future decision-making process. Storage of knowledge may involve linking, indexing
