The composition I like best was string quintet no. 2 in g major op 111 compose in 1890 by Johannes Brahms which was one of the last compositions he ever created and appear, I like this composition because it was very dynamic. Brahms provided the quintet’s five members ensemble the capability to achieve delicate chamber texture as well as quasi-symphonic textures. The Allegro’s development section flourishes upon the polyphonic possibilities of the medium, beginning quietly in B flat but breeding an unusually intensive exploration of the first subject’s
Mozart’s, Eine kleine Nachtmusik is a serenade and when I was listening to it I felt as if I was being serenaded. It was very entertaining throughout the whole piece. The combination of the strings and the double base have a great sound and keep the beat moving. This piece is the perfect example of a Minuet Allegretto with A B A form. The minuet is load
This piece was composed in 1803. This concerto featured a trumpet as the soloing instrument. It was very apparent that the trumpet player was very skilled. Compared to the third piece, the trumpet played over the orchestra as they laid down an undertone for the melody. This piece was great overall.
The first movement began with a very strong texture as the music reflected a very powerful theme. It began with the heavy instrumentation from the strings including cellos, violins, and basses. The tempo was also relatively fast and generally upbeat. About a minute and half in there was a very noticeable solo by the violins which was a bit softer in terms of the texture. The melody seemed to be very upbeat and cheerful. Lasting the form of the movement was very well structured and the instruments backed each other up smoothly.
From this semesters listing list my favorite piece that we learned about was definitely Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Reed Pipes” form The Nutcracker suite. This was my favorite for two main reasons: it is a piece from the famous ballet The Nutcracker and it has simple, interesting, and recognizable melody. I have always loved going to the ballet, especially when I was a little girl, and The Nutcracker is a classic ballet that I have seen multiple times before. This piece of music from the ballet is the song that I have always been able to recognize and connect with this certain ballet. The “Dance of the Reed Pipes” is organized in three-part (trinary) form. The main form or statement of this piece is the three flutes playing a staccato melody that is repeated multiple times.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven are two of the greatest composers ever to write music. Both men lived in the early 18th and 19th century, but their music and influences are still felt today. The men faced similar experiences, yet they both lead very different lives. All together the pieces that these men composed amounts to over 300 published, and unpublished works of art. The people of their time period often had mixed feelings about these men, some “complained that Mozart’s music presented them with too many ideas and that his melodies moved from one to the next faster than audiences could follow, yet the ideas themselves seem effortless and natural, clear and
Largo From The New World Symphony - This piece requires great control and subtlety from the ensemble. Accurate soft playing is a must.
Following the few words was the Cello Concerto of Sir Edward Edgar. Structured with four movements rather then three opens with slow and poignant music. It reminded me of the music that you hear when someone is mourning from loosing someone. It had its ups and downs in-between and the third was like energy broken down with mourning while going into the forth was the longest and most overly dramatic, it brought the audience to its feet. The performance was soothing and relaxing and amazing to see that each one of those people on that grand stage added something to make the piece special. With that being one of the first symphony performances I
The last was the Mexican piece “Plena Con Sabor” written by Oscar Hernandez. This piece was different from others in that Beatriz Figueroa-Chavez sang solo and danced. I really liked her voice. During the composition, it was possible to observe how the sound changed because someone from the musicians fell silent and then joined again. The tempo was fast throughout the piece and did not change. The end of composition was played by all instruments and it sounded

None of the other three symphonies by Brahms is there a happy balance of freshness of inspiration with technical mastery and maturity. This is also a hard
In 1747 Leopold Mozart married Maria Anna Pertl. Leopold and Maria Anna would have seven children, two of who would survive. Maria Anna born in 1752 who the family called Nannerl . Then in 1756 Wolfgang Amadeus who was nicknamed Wolfgangerl. Wolfgang Amadeus was not his original birth name it was shortened to this from Joannes Chrisostomos Wolfgangus Gottlieb. It is little wonder even two of the children survived; “Given Leopolds insistence that they be brought up on a diet of water and gruel, the wonder is that any survived at all.” (Siepmann, Mozart His life and Music) Leopold Mozart was very musical himself and was a skilled violinist, composer and an author. He wrote a well
Johannes Brahms was a German Composer, Pianist and conductor of the 19th century or the Romantic period. He was one of the 3 B's or the Big three: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Johannes was a very self-critic man he burned many of his pieces before he could get anyone's opinion on them and he burned all of his compositions that he wrote before the age of 19.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was probably the greatest genius in Western musical history. He was born in Salzberg, Austria on January 27, 1756. The son of Leopold Mozart and his wife Anna Maria Pertl. Leopold was a successful composer and violinist and assistant concertmaster at the Salzberg court.
Exultate justi by Lodovico Viadana was an allegro sacred motet with. Its polyphony made it interesting to listen to. It had a pure tone that I found nice.
Starting in the eleventh century, the members of the quintet start with a gregorian chant. They quickly change pace to a very renaissance piece that was very jubilant. Quickly followed by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Symphony Number Five. These three pieces make up about 800 years of music in their evolution in music and I believe that they should have put a few more pieces from in between.
