Norman Cousins’ book Anatomy of an Illness as Perceived by the Patient is the story of one man’s ablity to overcome the typical medical model of dealing with a disability, and how the mind is an amazing healing tool. This book is not just about Norman’s disability, bu also about his belief that if you want something bad enough, you can get it. I found this book particulatly interesting because I am currently trying get off my allergy medication, and cure myself through natural methods.
