Ancient Egypt is one of the most fascinating civilizations that has existed on our Planet. Today, we have a lot of information about their ways of life, thanks to the abundance of archeological discoveries and traces that have been left behind. When we first hear about ancient Egypt, there is no doubt that the very first things we come to associate it with is pyramids and pharaohs. These are the most iconic symbols of this ancient civilization, but they also serve to teach us a lot about their culture. If I could time travel, Ancient Egypt would certainly be my very first choice. I would like to visit it because it is unlike any other ancient civilization that I have learned about. Ancient Egypt is such an interesting and amazing society to study due to the various factors that allowed the city and population to thrive. The culture, quite different to other cultures around the world in ancient times, developed quite unique traditions, technologies and ideas. Small features of this society including aligning the 4 corners of the pyramids and being able to divide the year into 365 days makes it truly fascinating, The main reason that this society was able to thrive and be successful can be attributed to the great Nile River. Due to this people were able to settle which lead to the creation of a surplus, which could be sustained for around 2000 years.

Religion gives its people hope and understanding of many things that are unknown and a mystery. It provides security to its people. The Egyptians worshiped and followed many gods and other sacred beings, which had diverse roles in its society. The functions of Egyptian deities provided understanding of the mysteries of world, accountability of life events, and control in society.
As the central character of the Egyptian state, Pharaoh was the intercessor between the gods and humans. In temples, he was figured as equal of the gods, but he was primarily their servant. He was the only human allowed to interact with the gods.
