Most people when looking for a friend would normally look to someone they met at school, or someone they work with, never a younger sibling, yet I have turned to my younger brother, Jackson, to be my best friend. Jackson and I are very similar and have always had a close relationship. Together we are partners in crime, fishing buddies, and there to push each other in wrestling. I often catch myself wondering, what would I do without him? Bored children are good children. Jackson and I made it a point to always entertain ourselves summer days with nothing to do. Just like any brothers two years apart we did our fair share of fighting many times we fought to entertain ourselves. Our house and furniture took a beating from Jackson and I. The odd …show more content…
Growing up, my dad worked hard and did not leave much time to bring us fishing. Now that I can drive the amount of time spent on the lake each summer has increased dramatically, and I am never on the lake alone. My brother, who also loves fishing, and I make a great team. There are times Jackson and I will head out to the lake by ourselves. Even though he is younger brother, I like fishing with him more than any of my friends who are my own age. In the boat while fishing we do not talk much, we just mind our own business. While casting Jackson runs the trolling motor in the front of the boat and I cast in the back. Jackson and I make a great team while fishing even if we do not talk much. Last summer fishing on Lake Alexander for bass Jackson ran the trolling motor while I fished in the back. We casted along shorelines using spinners for bass and northerns. While fishing we did not talk much. Our only words we used were “got one,” which acted as our code words for “come over here and net this fish for me.” The person without a fish on always drops his rod and runs to the other side of the boat to help net the fish. Once Jackson did not even have to say a word. His drag started squealing, and I dropped my rod and ran to the front of the boat to net his fish. Fishing with friends is not the same, we talk more than we probably should and never catch as many fish as Jackson and I do when we go alone. We are also less likely to help each other netting a fish. Jackson and I on the other hand, drop our rods in the middle of a cast to help the other out. Without my fishing partner, I would not have anyone to fish with when everyone else is busy. No matter what Jackson is always the first person I ask to go fishing
He started out in a shallower spot with a bunch of lily pads. First he threw a topwater frog. He caught three or four largemouth bass but only one was worth keeping. John decided that he might have better luck in the deeper water so he tied on a crankbait. He went out a little deeper and found a good spot. He fished there for about an hour but only caught two. Neither one was a keeper. He made up his mind to stay a little long and ended up catching a decent six pounder. But after about twenty minutes he changed spots again. He found a nice looking spot that had some grass. From years of experience John knew that bass like staying close to grass because there is usually food in the grass. So he tied on a jig that had a crawfish trailer on it. He casted a few times and caught one but wasn't having much luck.
Fishing is a favorite activity of those who live on the lake, or those that visit the area. From sunfish, to crappie, to trophy-sized largemouth or white bass, fishing has become quite the popular sport on Lake Nacogdoches.
Andrew Jackson and John Ross both were a part of a different movement. The Proclamation and the letter were both written for a part of the government. The Proclamation was written on December 10th 1832 by Andrew Jackson. The Proclamation was dictated for the people of South Carolina, the attention focused on the issues of the Nullification. As for John Ross, he wrote the letter to the congress discussing the Cherokee nation about the series of harassment that they have endured.
After the “era” of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay became the new dominant forces in politics. They each brought their own respective ideas to politics and as a result, Jackson and Clay went head to head on many issues. The results of these debates still affect the United States to this day, showing the extent of the power that they possessed. The power of the federal government, the national bank, and states’ rights were among few of the issues that Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay debated. The debates of Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay resulted in the creation the American System, which changed the future of the United States and made it economically successful and prosperous.
When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.
Andrew Jackson, an “Old Hickory” who never had much education where as he spent it in the military and believed in a smaller government, was elected president in 1828 and became the seventh president of the United States. Before him was John Quincy Adams, a guy who was raised wealthy, went to college, and believed in a bigger government. Jackson did run against Adams in 1824, but lost because Jackson did not get the majority vote, which caused the House of Representatives to pick. After Adam’s presidential term ended, he decided to run again, but lost to Jackson this time. Both of their ideas on how to run the show were largely different with a few similarities, which later caused major change from the previous eras. Andrew Jackson was a Democratic president, but did support slavery. He also changed the national bank, created the idea of the common man, and his presidential term created the new two party systems, nothing that Adam’s believed in. The shift from Adams to Jackson created major changes, and the final end to the Federalist party.
America, a nation with an Electoral College that so far appointed forty-five men, each one of them possessing a unique background, to the most respectable and highest occupation. Said College consists of representatives from all fifty states who voted these men into the most prestigious position in the country: President of the United States. Throughout the centuries in the United States a variety of men from different political parties and upbringings lead the country in its darkest days and glorious times. Andrew Jackson the first Democratic President of the United States did not act in the same manner or share many similar qualities as the latest President of the same political party, Barack Obama. Which makes sense, due to the enormous gap between the duration of their Presidency and the time each man happened to live through. The lives before the switch of citizen to President and legislation signed as President of the two previously mentioned men above are minimally alike and more so differ.

A great fisherman named Harry Middleton once said a very popular quote, “Fishing is not an escape from life, but often a deeper immersion into it.” This quote is true to many fisherman out there, because every fisherman goes fishing to find themselves and get lost in their own thoughts. Being a perfect fisherman is a very complicated thing to do, a perfect fisherman has to be strong, passionate, brave, smart and have a lot of life experience. The book The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger, a true story about fishermen, has many perfect fishermen with all of those characteristics. Just three of the perfect fishermen in The Perfect Storm are Bobby Shatford, Billy Tyne and Dale Murphy, otherwise known as Murph. The reasons behind of why Shatford, Tyne and Murphy are perfect fishermen are; they are dauntless,

I have been fishing my whole life, especially bass fish. I normally try to catch largemouth bass, which are very common where I am from. I was on my high school’s bass fishing team and we actually did pretty well for the most part, especially coming from such a small school. Largemouth bass are our prime target during these fishing tournaments. A largemouth bass is a white/green fish usually ranging from 1 pound to 6, they can also get up to 10 pounds as well. You can bass fish for fun or you can do it competitively such as tournaments. Tournaments usually go like every other tournament, you have two people and an adult captain that basically drives the boat and puts people in the best spots to catch bass. Every tournament usually starts at around 7 in the morning and goes through to 3 in the afternoon. After the time limit is reached, the boats then unload and get pulled up in the parking lot with the fish in them. The teams, then one by one go up to the weigh station and get a bag to put the
While Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson laid their interests in distinctive areas of the nation and enforced their beliefs with differing actions, many similarities can be found between the two presidents. For example, both presidents portrayed themselves as the “common man”, advocating for the lower classes and believing that the federal government should not be involved in state affairs. Both opposed the ruling of the aristocratic elite and advocated for “equal rights for all, special privileges for none”. However, although both believed that majority should have power, Jefferson and Jackson had contradictory views on education, holding office, and industrialization - all of which influenced their actions as president. Jefferson changed
Fishing to some people may just be fishing. But fishing to the people who have read A River Runs through It some time in their life, is a gift. Whether fishermen use bait, worms, or George's flies it is that much sweeter to catch some trout with a brother under one arm and a father on the other.
Fishing is a popular past time all around the world. It has been around for many centuries, and has influenced and shaped many societies and cultures. One popular religion that fishing has a major impact on is Christianity. It is obvious that fishing is prominent in the Christian religion by looking at the famous Christian symbol, the Jesus fish. On many American cars one may find this very simple depiction of a fish on the back bumper. Another influence that fishing has in Christianity is the teachings in the bible. Many biblical stories are written and teach life lessons through the technique of fishing. Not only did Jesus want his disciples to be fisher of men, but he also did the majority of his sermons in a boat. Fishing plays a huge role in the Christian community and throughout time has shaped it into the religion that it is today.
The excitement begins to rise as the first cast draws nearer. The motor is prepared for take-off and the key is placed in the ignition. The engine turns over and the huge motor roars. The sleek boat accelerates rapidly and speeds toward the first fishing spot of the day. In a matter of minutes, the powerful boat glides into the fishing spot. The anticipation of catching a fish becomes almost unbearable. The fishing poles are grabbed quickly out of the rod lockers, and lures are tied onto the end of the fishing line. Moments later, the sound of a lure splashing into the water can be heard from the boat. The real adventure has just begun.
