I chose Andy Warhol for my paper. His art is so fancy and eye-catching. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, August 6, 1928. He started doing art after he contacted illness. His mother was an artist and encouraged Andy while he was recovering from Chorea. She rewarded Andy by giving him delicious sweets mostly chocolate bars, when he finished a page in his coloring book.
Andy’s father passed away when he was 14. His father died from jaundiced liver. Warhol didn’t attend his father’s funeral because he was to heartbroken. His father stated in his will that all his life savings were to go to Andy so he could go to college. He recognized his son’s artistic talents.
Andy dropped the A from his last name, Warhola, when he went to college. He went to New York City to pursue a career as a commercial artist. His thriving career almost ended when he was shot by Valerie Solana’s, an aspiring writer. She was arrested. Warhol was seriously wounded in this attack. Doctor had to cut open his chest and massage his heart to get it started again.
