Andy Warhol was considered to be The Pop Master during the Pop Art movement. He was a painter, printmaker, illustrator, filmmaker and sculptor; he was also the controversial lover of the popular, a mad fan of fame, glamor, and celebrities. Andy Warhol’s Mao Tse Tung (1972) is a silk-screen portrait of the Chinese leader that was made in many versions. It is one of the series of silk-screens that he made on the subject of fame.
