A long time ago there was a racist cult called the kkk, black people were being executed just because they were black they are still here today but it died down a little. People protest or start riots when these kind of things happen, peaceful protests are fine but riots are ridiculous, when the riots were going on some people were hunting down whites and beating them up because they are white, that sounds a little familiar… everybody's lives matter. We have to just drop it and get along, and if we can’t do that then the world will be hell not just for african american, caucasian, asian, or hispanic people. It will be hell for everybody, we can stop all discrimination all racism, All
About seventy nine percent of families around the world have an animal that they love and share their life with. Most families have either a dog or a cat. These pets are loyal, kind, and loving. We bring them into our homes and take care of them. There are some animals who aren’t fortunate enough to have a family to love and take care of them. These animals are abused and mistreated every day. The Humane Society Of The United States has made it their job to protect these animals and prevent this cruelty before it happens. They spend eighty percent of all of their donations on protecting these poor animals. I believe that these animals deserve a chance to escape these horrible circumstances and find a family who will love and care for them. If you donate you will be a part of these animals lives. You will be giving them a chance to be happy in life. You will be part of helping them find a loving
The statement by Paul McCartney rings true, “If slaughterhouses had glass walls everyone would be a vegetarian.” Animal rights is a concept which people hardly ever consider in a serious light. Being born as a human being, having a superior mental capacity and sense of times makes people think that they can rule this world and use other living beings as they see fit. This mentality leads to people say things like “animals are born to eaten” or how Aristotle claimed “all of the nature exist specifically for the sake of men” and “that animal are merely instruments for humankind.” (Pg. 495). This way of thinking often leads to overconsumption of animals, cruelty to animals and loss of species.
Bullying has become a very big problem over 55,000 kids have gone suicidal due to bullying, that is 8,000 kids a year, 22 a day, and 1 an hour.
Say “animal” to any American, and there is a decent chance that the first image brought to mind will be a cat or a dog. Domesticated animals such as these permeate American culture, from the Puppy Bowl to the ongoing dog vs cat debate on Facebook posts and Internet forums. But although pets seem to be everywhere, millions of them every year slip through the cracks, winding up on the streets or vying for limited space in an animal shelter. This overpopulation makes animal homelessness in America a problem that needs to be addressed.
At this very moment, there are approximately 250 million cows being used in the dairy industry. 9 million of those cows are in America, and 16.5 percent of those will die from disease. That’s just one of the outcomes on a dairy farm. Animal cruelty is intentionally inflicting suffering or harm upon any non-human animal, whether it is legal or not. Dairy farms fall under the “animal cruelty” label for many reasons. Not only do cows get injected with hormones that cause disease, but they also have to live in unsanitary living conditions, and the cows suffer with a lot of health and emotional problems due to forced impregnation.
Bullies gain self-pleasure by inflicting pain towards others of the same class, often making their lives miserable. In many cases children may start bullying other children because they don’t understand that is wrong. Bullying also can be learning from home, community, television, movies or internet. The bullies can be also victimization by others, physical abuse, modeling of bullying behavior from parents or lack of supervision by parents.
“Hormone-free”, “organic”, “grass-fed”, and “natural” are labels that animal and plant producers use to inform consumers of what they are eating. These claims are misleading and usually increase the prices of those products. By increasing the price and sticking a label that reads “natural” makes consumers think that this product is better for them. Animal Welfare Approved gives an example of an egg carton boasting the statement that its eggs are “natural.” This statement can legally come from an industrial farm where the hens do not forage the way a chicken does “naturally.” According to the USDA, farms have to get organic certifications and accreditations in order to sell, label, and represent their products as organic. It is difficult to
Animal Cruelty is described as “the deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal” (Miller, 2016). The maltreatment of animals in society today is an issue that is continuously addressed without much actual change. Laws are established but not fully implemented to those who break the law. Some of the most common forms of animal cruelty include dog fighting, puppy mills, horse slaughtering, neglect, and animal experimentation. Dog fighting is a common form of gambling in the United States where dogs are forced to fight each other for the entertainment and profit of the spectators. It is considered a felony in all 50 states; however, it continues to be an ongoing issue in the U.S. and internationally. Behind the actual dog
In America, we come across serious environmental issues about poverty, domestic abuse, ending world hunger ect. Animal cruelty isn’t one of those topics that isn’t being put out there more. We see it all around like the commercials on tv that tell you to donate money to help the poor stray dogs. People don’t see how much damage we can cause to them, but if we got together we can help stop this madness. In the article, Counting cruelty: Challenges and opportunities in assessing animal abuse and neglect in America it briefly says “Cruelty to animals is a crime.” (Lockwood 87). Laws were made for this problem way back. Our laws help keep society in a proper place with no hysteria.Which means people like us should pay attention more to our surroundings.
Along with mental illnesses, there have also been several cases where bullying was the cause for a child to act out in a violent way, or the bullying itself was taken to extreme levels. Bullying is becoming a widely spread epidemic, with students handling it in very different ways. Children have done everything from commit suicide as an escape from bullying to killing entire classrooms of people to get back at the bullies. According to the National Institute of Health, “both childhood bullies and their victims are more likely to engage in more serious violent behavior, like frequent fighting and carrying weapons” (Longley). Bullying is a serious thing that should not be taken lightly and, like any other issue, parents should be
Animal abuse is frowned upon in America. However, we haven’t any right to say something like this, as it happens all the time right under our noses, specifically on our dinner plates. From Chickens, Ducks, and Geese to Cows, Pigs, and Sheep They all suffer from abuse every day. It is sickening to know that the food I eat has come from an animal who was not grown with care and had been fed a diet that does not register within its normal eating habits. It is disturbing to see animals being raised to be so heavy that they cannot support their own bodies and collapse under their own weight. It is assumed that the animals we eat are properly cared for, when in reality this is not the case. While the farms we imagine to be bright and idealistic
Over the course of two years, over 9,500 animal welfare cases were detected in slaughterhouses in the UK. A little less than half were category 4, meaning that animals suffered avoidable pain, distress or suffering. Many of these issues ended up with animals accidentally being beaten, crushed, frozen, or boiled to death (“Slaughterhouses’ 4,000 cases”). The laws about animal cruelty in the UK are very similar to those of the US, meaning situations like these can occur in America as well, without the citizens’ knowledge. The painful slaughter techniques used against sometimes contaminated animals in addition to the ineffective regulations set up against them have become a deplorable problem, especially since a fair amount of the population is
The fight for animal rights is one that has been going on for centuries. “The new emphasis upon animals ' feelings of sensation in the eighteenth century brought growing criticism of some forms of cruelty. Doubts about the ethics of castrating domestic animals were raised as early as 1714." (Guither, 1998, p.1) According to Guither (1998), London was the first to encourage the prevention of animal cruelty in 1824 where it eventually became the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They aimed to "attack animal cruelty and promote kindness to animals in support of prevailing social and religious values, support enforcement of existing laws, and pass new ones. (Guither, 1998, p.2)
Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.
Bullies might not always be aware of the severe consequences of their actions but this cannot condone the sorrow and pain they inflict upon the victims. Bullying often evokes psychosomatic illnesses. Victims complain about headache, heart diseases, dizziness, nausea and sleep disorder. Bullying becomes the dominating part of their whole life; they cannot do anything without thinking of the horror of the next workday. Weakened as they are, victims become an even easier target for people who want to harm them. It is a vicious circle, hard to break out for those terrorized by bullying. Many of them think of committing suicide as the last way out.
