Every little girl dreams of having a horse, but what do you do with that horse when he is too old to be rode and he struggles to come in and eat his grain? Most likely you don’t have the heart to put him down yourself, and to have him euthanized costs so much, but are there any other options? Yes, there is one more option, that is horse slaughter. Don’t be afraid of it just because you hear the word slaughter, the horses are treated well and they are put down humanely. Horse slaughter is a big controversy in the United States, and there are many people that are against it, but I’m here to tell you why everyone should be for horse slaughter. Horse slaughter is something that is needed and not something that is evil. Today I’m going to tell you about why everyone should be for horse slaughter and how it can help to control the horse population, help stimulate the economy and help feed people that are starving.

There is a large problem of animal cruelty linked to the food industry in the United States. Countless slaughterhouses, chicken farms, and other meat producers have been found guilty of harming animals and killing them inhumanely. This is something that clearly needs to change.

Hiding behind a big boulder in the hot and sunny Africa is a man holding a shotgun, he spots the large male lion that he has been tracking for two whole weeks, he aims and you hear the gun sounding and the male lion falls to the ground. All the man wanted was to say that that was the was the lion he killed. As of being a kid, I have more of an imagination which makes me think more and want to come up with ways to help solve problems and figure out how they affect us. As well, I like animals a lot, so if the animals that are endangered are or have been being killed I am or would like to have a say or help stop it. When I was researching my topic, I had been finding the perfect articles and videos to get important and correct information. How many animals die each year. Do they have any laws or anyone to stop the animal poaching? This was my driving question: How can I convince people to help stop others from killing the animals for no reason? Once I finished my research, I understood that in some way it is possible to help stop animal poaching. One of the biggest problems going on right now is that illegal hunters are killing endangered animals just because of their skin or just as a trophy hunt. It may not seem like it more and more animals are becoming close to being endangered to almost extinct.

Throughout time humans have forged sympathy for numerous animals, created from the relationships we have developed over time, bonding and interacting with them. We have a grimace look with an animal that's been physically abused or a farm animal being butchered for the meat that eventually make its to the grocery shelf. Having watched videos on supermarket suppliers we don't realize the apathy of some various meat, dairy and egg industries that settle their animals in heinous conditions and have utter negligence for their sentience. It becomes certain that these wondrous animals who provide us with an ecological resource are not respected and action is necessary to punish those individuals. As a society we sometimes disregard the death of some animals, it's unfair but we are just biased on the affection we show to certain animals.

Ever since forty plus years ago Agriculturalists have shown a variety of show cattle and ran ranches with them. I showed cattle for a few years throughout my FFA experience. Cattle have played a huge role in our society feeding families and other people who reside in this world. Their effect on human culture is something that we take much pride in when raising our cattle whether it is for companion or meat products. Previous cattle showman know and strive to achieve the ultimate goal: winning grand champion. This reward is earned by having the best show calf in the ring to the judge’s perspective. In order to reach this goal, the exhibitor must use proper feeding methods and show technique. (Insert thesis here.)

1. ATTENTION GETTER: Millions of animals are abused each year. Over a million of these animals are abused or killed just due to the involvement with domestic violence. Despite animal cruelty being a felony which can result in jail time for over 15 years and 500,000 dollars in fines, it is still an issue which occurs on a daily basis across the United States. It is important for these animals to not go unnoticed, which can be achieved if society became more enlightened and educated on the topic of animal cruelty. (Pacelle, 2011).

Think about how we will look back on our cruel forms of entertainment in the future. Will we be proud of the way we treated these great animals, with abuse as neglect? Today we turn our heads away from reality and what happens behind the scenes of animal entertainment. However, we can’t turn our heads forever. Around the world, there is so much more to animal entertainment than what meets the eye. These animals have been torn away from their beautiful, natural homes and brought to a prison of concrete. In these prisons, they are beaten, starved and tortured all for our money and entertainment. These animals lives should not be taken from them for us. Our money and happiness should not be worth these animal’s lives. Circus, theme park and zoo animals all suffer from aggression towards trainers, mental disabilities and physical injuries. These animals should not have to suffer any longer.

I have always felt strongly about animal rights, and cruelty to animals, so I decided to do my speech on something less talked about and often avoided, which is animal vivisection- in other words, animal testing. The public are blinded by cover ups and lies that make animal testing seem a lot better than it really is which is why I think it is important to get all the facts out there and why I think it should be banned.

I have some questions for you: Is slavery-owner, victim, profit, domination - exclusive to the human race? have not cows been enslaved? If they are not saved what are they, free? Slaughterhouse, house of slaughter.

Imagine you were sitting on your porch, the sun is out, you are tuning your six-string guitar, the day is calm, all alone, nothing could ruin this day. But all of a sudden, you are in a metal box, with thousands of other people, everyone around you has holes from needles, scars, cuts, on their bodies. Then a giant hand comes and reaches for you. You scream for help, the others just watch you then, you feel a stabbing pain in your side, then you fall asleep. You’re back home but something doesn’t feel right.

Animal testing should be banned. Millions of animals a year are being imprisoned and tortured, kept in horrible conditions and forced to undergo horrific procedures. Some of these ‘procedures’ include vivisection – the practice of performing operations on live animals for the purpose of experimentation or scientific research - having harsh chemicals used or tested on them that you would never ever dare to put near your hair, face or body. I’m going to tell you 5 reasons why I agree that animal testing should be banned.

You don’t know what your doing do you? This needs to end now find something else to test on instead of our animals. According to PETA over 100 million animals die each year because of animal testing. They die just because we want products we don’t even need. Just 1 ingredient in a product can cause up to 14 hundred animal deaths . what have we done to our animals. Some popular products we use everyday like tide, glade old spice and dove just to name a few products we use everyday that have been tested on animals. I know that animal testing makes sure that we don’t get skin irritation. But it is wasting animal life. You don’t know what your doing do you? Almost 80% of countries don’t have any laws about animal testing and that needs to change.

Animals around the world have been abused, treated cruelly, and faced the fact of extinction. Even our everyday animals like bees, butterflies, and worms play a big part in our only world, and we need all animals to stay. If you don’t think all animals play a part in the world, you are wrong. Every animal to a centipede and a giraffe play a huge part in our one world, and we only have one chance until they get extinct, then they’re gone forever. I wanted to address this problem because animals do not deserve getting abused. It’s like if an animal abused you. There should be no reason to hurt or kill an animal of any kind. If we lose bees then what would put good stuff into our flowers, and give us honey. You probably have no idea, so that’s the answer nothing else will do what bees do. While I was researching this topic, I wanted to find out a few pieces of information. How could animals be saved? Why do animals get killed? Do animals work for good causes? My driving question was: How can our society prevent animals from being killed? After all the research that I did, it’s clear that we can find ways to save animals from being killed.
