Animal testing has its benefits towards human health. Improvement in health of the human race involves animal testing. Cancer, asthma, polio, TB, meningitis, smallpox, and the human papilloma virus (HPV) all have treatments that have come from animal testing. As a result of animal testing many people would be dying or suffering from the disease. Although, many people believe animals should not be used for animal testing.

Based on this, the hypothesis is that animal testing is a gift of life and hope for everyone. The main purpose of animal testing is that it helps in the search for drugs and treatments to improve health and medicine. Keep in mind that many medical procedures have been made possible by animal experimentation, like HIV and cancer drugs, insulin, antibiotics, vaccines and many more. We can conclude that some experiments are considered essential for treatment of diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s. Also the procedures to treat heart disease as is the case of open heart and lung surgery, coronary bypass improves blood flow to the heart, and the replacement of a defective heart valve. We should also mention the techniques and equipment for renal dialysis. Radiation therapy also was tested first in mice and rats. The cure for measles, smallpox, blood transfusions, and microsurgery to reattach severed limbs. In other promising research on lessons of the spinal cord and paralysis, so-called neurological, trying to find ways to repair nerve tissue and restore movement. These are some of the reasons why the scientific community and much of society support this practice. Which shows that without animal testing, many humans, and also animals would not be alive today, would not have been possible to eradicate many pests that plague mankind.

Even though animal testing seems as if it is harmful, it has also helped humans benefit medically and for the better in life. First and foremost, testing on animals has led to advancements in numerous areas of medical treatment that has saved thousands of people since the testings began. How? Well, animals have a very similar body structure to humans, which makes them prime examples for testing medications. Chimpanzees have 99% of the same DNA as humans do, and even mice are 98% genetically similar to the human race. Animals and humans both share the same complex, orderly body systems, and for this reason, they are readily used to study animal tissues and the way they react to certain procedures. Animals are thought of sweet loving pets that are cared for. People never think about what goes on in the outside world and what people do to animals. Animals are getting tested on everyday and they are losing their lives because of animal testing. Animal testing is taking an animal and testing all different products including beauty products, medicine and many more. Laboratory animals are almost tortured to death to extract information for the ultimate welfare of the human beings, us doing tests on these animals for our benefits is completely justifiable as humans it is our responsibility to treat them well.

Basically, what doctor Hajar is saying is that people judge animal testing by its negatives but don’t see the positive things in it. In today’s society if there were no medical research done on animal for human there would be medicine like we have today would be non-existent. Personally I feel that animal research is a necessity for accurate and well developed medicine that could not be produced without the use of animals. All of the animal research that is completed is without a doubt regulated for the protection of animals against abuse. Another thing that makes animals a prodigious testing material is because they mere humans in many similar ways. Subsequently, thanks to the animals that have been tested many lives have been saved.

Therefore, animals should not be used in scientific and commercial testing when the procedure is erroneous, has superior alternative methods, and is inhumane.
