Animal Testing Satire

Ashley raced through the aisles to find the perfect lip color to match her brand new, soft pink dress. She scavenged down each and every aisle looking closely for the crowning color. As she tore every lipstick off the shelf, a soft pink color all the way in the back, caught her eye. She quickly snatched it before anyone could get to it. Ashley stroked the beautiful packaging thinking about how perfect the light pink color would match her pale skin, her jet black hair and her pink dress. As she obsessed over the color, she noticed the label. Out of curiosity, she simply read what it had to say. This product is tested on animals, read. Ashley quickly put it back on the shelf. She didn’t want anything to do with that lip color. By buying this lipstick, she felt that she would be betraying her dog. She knew that animal testing killed thousands of dogs each year. She knew that animal testing killed millions of animals each year. She knew that she had no desire to support this cruel act. Like Ashley, many people protest against animal testing. Animal testing is inaccurate, there are many alternatives, and it is just cruel. This is why animal testing should not be permitted in the United States.

Over the last couple hundred years, this world has expanded beyond its horizons and the new equipment and technology has allowed humans to advance in many areas, but has also damaged the basic ethics and morals of some. Today on television, one will see the over dramatized body spray commercials or the famous celebrity advertising their most favorable shampoo and stating its claims, but what most do not know is that a couple or couple hundred, animals were killed to approve, by law, of that product. This act is called animal testing, and its method is used in many companies for their products to be released. I do not agree with this practice simply because it harms innocent animals for products that we do not need to survive or remain with. I believe animal testing harms and tortures, innocent and helpless animals, by containing them in tight spaces, with chemicals drenched on their skin for several hours to see how they might react or the effects to analyze what worked and what did not work. At this time, my fiancé and I cannot have children, so we purchased a puppy. Not some cute tiny toy poodle, not some little pug, a little pit bull puppy. He was all white at birth.  I have never owned a pit bull myself, I was raised around them though as family pets. I never knew it would be so excruciating to train this devil.  I am not a believer in corporal punishment, I do not believe in animal abuse at all. I have a cage for him only during my absence, or he is in trouble. It is open for him to also lay in whenever he so chooses to.  My puppy’s name is Ghost (because he is white).  He was not hard to house train at all. We are all animals. Although we like to believe we are superior and justify many of our actions on this ideology. The truth is quite different. We share countless, undeniable similarities with “animals” and to pretend we are some super being that transcends animals status is foolish.

Eddie you may not know him, he’s a chimpanzee that lives in Oakland zoo in California. No know one knew Eddie as Margaret Rousser. Margaret was Eddie’s caregiver. A reporter in California was doing a report on the Oakland zoo and they notice that Eddie may never go back home. Eddie and his brother are from the wild in Africa. But they might never go back home because Eddie has developed “human like” actions. In 2014 of the June California Senate passed a resolution 22 which should urge the US congress to ban all animal testing. Cosmetic testing on animals has been outlawed in many countries for example Israel,united kingdom,and of course European Union.

As of right now millions of animals are being used for education, to test drugs, and product and cosmetic testing. Monkeys, rabbits, cats, ferrets, pigs, sheep, and monkeys are just a few of the animals that are being used for testing. 90% of the animals happen to be mice, birds, and rats. It is the worst form of animal abuse that is endorsed by our society. If it’s okay with society then there must be some good outcomes from it.

Innocent animals are being tested on for human needs. How is that fair? Well it isn’t animals shouldn’t have to die for human needs. Animal testing is bad because these animals that are being killed haven’t done anything to us. I’m sure you wouldn't be happy if some random person came to your house and took your pet and tested on it and you never saw it again. I’m sure you would be devastated.

Animal Testing is uncertain and hard. Animals go through a series of tests are very painful, most of the time they are not even given anything for pain. Some product tests require the same painful procedure on a daily basis over a weeks' time. Most tests on animals cause permanent injury or even death. The tests performed on animals are not always reliable. A medicine that may be safe with animals may not be for human beings. For example, aspirin is toxic to cats, so if we were to test this medication on cats, it would not help to determine if this was a safe product for human beings. Animals are used in tests for all kinds of products. In the articles “Statement by NIH Director DR. Francis Collins on the Institute of Medicine Report Addressing the Scientific Need for the Use of Chimpanzees in Research” by Dr. Francis Collins as well as “Breakthroughs Might Mean the End of Animal Testing” by John Ericson, the use of animals for scientific testing is seen as both good and bad. Animal testing has had more ups than downs, they have been able to help cure diseases or illnesses and also provide the most similar anatomy to test.

Animals should be used for medical testing. Animals can help save thousands of lives. If we don't test on animals, we will have to start testing on humans. That will cause a decrease in the human population. If it works on animals, it will most likely work on us. Animal bodies work very similar to ours so it is a good idea to test on animals. Some people might say that the animals will go extinct, but they wont unless we do medical testing on animals wisely. And not all medical treatments will need animal testing. So why not?

Yes,I think Animal testing is the best way of deciding whether products are safe for humans, because animals are genetically similar to humans and because it a faster way of seeing if it going to hurt humans with animals they also get a faster decision of weather or not.Animal Testing Is An Inhumane Practice That Has No Place In Today's World.Many substances that adversely affect animals will not affect humans and vice versa.

The testing of animals for cosmetic and medical means is wrong because it is very expensive, the products tested are often harmful or ineffective on humans and animals are often times injured very badly or even killed.

Animal testing has long played a part in the science of testing, and it still plays a very important role in the medical world. Testing on animals in order to create a cure for AIDS is one thing, but testing on animals for human vanity is another. Animal testing is used to test the safety of a product. It has kept some very unsafe substances out of the cosmetic world. However, in this day in age, animal testing is not the only way to test the safety of a product. Animal testing in cosmetics has decreased over the years. However, it is still used by many companies in America. Animal testing is not only cruel, but it is also unnecessary in today’s advanced scientific world.
