Animals Have Feelings Too! In the world we live in today there is a pet present in over fifty-one percent of the families. Because we are talking about in the world the types of pets can ran range from a cat or dog to a giraffe or elephant. To the owners of these animals they are not just pets, but members of their family. Considering these animals are looked after as if they were children; would you like for your child to be a test dummy for products of cosmetic and military supply? Sensible beings will say no because it would be considered inhumane. It should not be any different for animals. Just as we have senses and feelings animals have the same if not a more intense version. Animals require more space to live efficiently, the ability to be in their natural habitat to learn survival as well as a social life; their constant inclination to extinction is growing and military testing is shortening their lifespan, animals feel just as a human which is why animal testing should be banned. Animals are should accumulate a certain percentage of physical activity per day in order to maintain good health. “In the wild, elephants roam as much as 30 miles a day, snacking on lush foliage, bathing in water holes (Lemonick2006).” Zoos attempt to recreate a wildlife setting that can shelter animals and keep them from being used for testing however many attempts are unsuccessful due to lack of storage and space available for their necessary exercise. These generally do not work
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, is the use of animals in experiments to test product safety. I believe it is a big problem in our society. Every year at least 2.7 million animals are killed in laboratories in Australia alone and at least thirty-three animals die each second worldwide, due to cruel animal tests. Many companies feel it is okay to test on animals because they are deemed not as physiologically or emotionally complex as humans, but as animal rights supporter, Jeremy Bentham has said, “The question is not, ‘Can they reason?’ nor, ‘Can they talk?’ but rather, ‘Can they suffer?’ and most of the time the animals do suffer.
Animal testing for human safety is inhumane and must be banned. Beloved house pets such as rodents, rabbits and even dogs are being tested on all over the world. These powerless and voiceless animals are intentionally given dreadful diseases to find cures while scientists could be finding alternative ways of testing instead of using our furry friends. Furthermore, the tests are not precise because there have been products found to cause cancer in animals but also cures human ailments. Why are humans authorised to conduct such inhumane things, who gave humans the power of heartlessly torturing feeble animals?
Protesting has been going around the world for many of years. Throughout many years of people boycotted agents a situation they believe, if a wrong or right. One of the biggest areas on where people gather around and protest is when they’re fighting agents animals testing. As well as the years has pasted on protesting on animals, it became more sires in increased in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Many cosmetics companies been testing on animals throughout the years there is also many that have not. The cosmetics line LUSH has been fighting over animals testing for over thirty years and will continue to fight for their right according to the company. When LUSH had first started the company had divided they didn 't ever wanted to test their product on animal. Not only fighting agents animals testing LUSH is also ego friendly; everything they use its plants, oil, and recycle. Since LUSH having to be agents animal testing, policies had created to work with the companies of cosmetics to end the cruelty of animals. The LUSH company say “ This can be done without animal testing …” and it true. LUSH is a company that all there product dills with ones skin to make them fell and look beautiful. If LUSH can test their products other than animals and still make your still looking good then, other cosmetics companies can do the same.
When using cosmetics or common house cleaning products many do not realize that they are supporting animal cruelty. Animal testing is among the most disturbing experiments being done today. Vivisection is the practice of animal experimentation. It can include administering drugs, infecting animals with diseases, poisoning for toxicity testing, brain damaging, maiming, blinding, and other painful invasive procedures. Animal testing has protocols that cause severe suffering such as long-term social isolation, full-body restraint, electric shocks, withholding of food and water, or repeated breeding and separating infants from mothers. It is using millions of animals in ways that cause distress or death to test the safety of drugs and
Animal testing is abusive, ineffective, and should be outlawed. The use of animals in life sciences has been in laboratories for over a century. The American Medical Society endorses allowing testing of all animals to create new medicine or treatments for humans. Ever since animal testing has been put into action, many people have expressed their ethical and scientific unease about the experiments. Not only does the procedure cause the creature physical pain and psychological distress, but also it wastes resources.
Animal testing is cruel and should be banned because there are better ways to test things. My second reason is that different species of animals and humans are so different so there bodies will react differently to different things. Lastly, the animal welfare act is bypassed and animals are treated very poorly when they test in the animals. These are just some of the reasons proving animal testing is cruel and should be banned.
Do you ever wonder what it would be like if you were an animal? You sure would not want to be in a laboratory all day! I strongly believe that animal testings should be outlawed. First of all drugs that pass animal tests are not necessarily safe, also, Most of the animal tests do not even work on humans, and animals are different than humans. In addition I believe that animal testing is wrong and should be banned.
The use of animals in research has created a diverse range of attitudes, as some individuals support the use of animals in research and others are against it. Sometimes people do not have enough background knowledge on this topic to be involved in a discussion of animal testing. Animal testing dates back to around 400 years ago, when one of the first famous researchers William Harvey was curious to discover how blood circulates around the body. The modern era of animal testing began around 150 years ago, although the conditions were quite different; there were no painkillers as the animals suffered a great deal (Understanding Animal Research 2013).
“Animal testing has been bad of the years and it can even be dated back to the ancient times of the greek. Physicians would dissect animals with the pure interest to obtain knowledge. But even then, one such physician stated that he would rather use a pig as his subject because he wanted to.The ethics of animal testing has always been questioned. Humans do not want to think of animals as on the same level of us. The similarity is terrifying and makes the cruelness obvious. In the 20 century it has been recorded that early scientists who perform experiments and operations on live animals, did not consider animals to be of the same lineage of us and barely cared for them. The remaining are used as test dummies for products. Hundreds of
One major dilemma that companies face today is animal testing. Many cosmetic companies still use animal testing in an immoral ways of testing products. Out of the major 5 companies that are still animal testing for cosmetics stated by one green planet unleash your green monster. Which is a special interest foundation to protect animal-rights. In a recent article by Pam Ryan “Hate animal cruelty? You should probably avoid these cosmetic brands” states that that Olay was number one on their list (Pam Ryan).
I was a bit conflicted over some of the reading material, specifically Erica Jong’s piece titled, “He Hears, She Hears: Ten Genderbender Vocabulary Words”. In the piece Jong goes to outline differences in the interpretation of certain words between the genders. My problem is in the way Jong seems to generalize these differences among all members of each gender. I find that generalization upsetting, particularly since I don’t believe that some of the gender generalizations she makes applied to me or many of the women I know. This was the case when Jong makes the assertion that women think of rules as guidelines, hints or mere suggestions; while men see rules as unbendable. (Jong, 135-136) I strongly disagreed with this statement and asked my two sisters about their opinions of rules and they also disagreed with Jong’s pronouncement about the genders and rules. Furthermore, I find the fact that Jong would make such blanket statements for a whole gender, problematic when her article is trying to point out the problems with the genderization of the interpretation of words amongst the sexes. I feel that by making such blanket and overreaching statements Jong is in fact perpetuating the very thing which she is criticizing. Furthermore, by failing to acknowledge that variability does exist she alienates and puts people such as myself on the defensive about our gender identity. Am I any less of a woman because I tend to see rules as unbreakable? Like most males
Animal rights is the idea that all animals are entitled to the possession of their own lives and that they are entitled to their most basic needs. The topic of animals rights has been discussed in occurrences of illegal hunting, domestic animal abuse, and testing on animals for any purposes. There are a vast variety of reasons for why to test on animals, whether they be cosmetic or scientific. The most argumentative topic regarding animal testing is medical testing. The community that complies with medical animal testing does so because testing on animals for medical reasons helps researchers find drugs and treatments, proves the safety of products, and it is regulated. Those who protest testing on animals argue that it is expensive,
Everyday products are being bought without the realization of the cruelty behind them. Products like cosmetics, post-it notes, diapers, Kleenex, lotions and medications. Like many people, we don’t think twice about animal testing being involved. As long as the item is safe for you to use and works the way you want it to, there’s no problem. Some people may even argue that the results of the experimentation when using animals for testing outweigh the harm to these animals. Unfortunately, for animals they are not treated with respect, because people believe humans are the superior life form and disregard others feelings. Even though many scientists believe animal testing is necessary for research, most tests are not relevant. Many of the tests the scientists perform on these animals are not used for anything further. They are causing pain and suffering on innocent animals that then the results are not used. In reality too many animals go through unnecessary testing which often leads to death. The excessive testing of animals is not necessary and should be stopped.
Animal testing is inhuman, and should be banned. Yes, animal testing has been around for a very long time, but it doesn’t mean we should still do it. Testing on animals should be banned because they are abused and hurt, most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of the animal subjects, and more than 90% of animal testing fail once they reach human trials.
