Everyday animals are forced to work under extreme conditions without any rest. In the novel Call of the Wild, Jack London shows Scotch and Francois as having different perspectives on work animals. Scotch is a very key character in this novel. Scotch has a very different perspective on work animals than most of the other characters. He feels very sympathetic about the animals and cares for them. Shown in chapter four the narrator says “ Each night the dogs attend first. They ate before the drivers ate, and no man prepared to sleep himself till he examined the feet of the dogs he drove.” This shows that Scotch cared a lot for the dogs. Francois’ might not be the best person when it comes to work animals but he will get them to work. His perspective

I did not like the book The Call Of The Wild because in the first two or three chapters after buck gets adopted by Francois the book repeats itself over and over again. Also every time something that should kill Buck, he breaks through and lives with minor inguries. I liked the book because Buck shone through all the other dogs he was brave, loving, and always did what his master told him too.
Francois has compassion for the dogs because of his perspective on how animals should be treated. “Hungry as he was, he would not move to receive his ration of fish, which Francois had to bring to him. He also rubbed Buck’s feet for half an hour each night after supper, and he

A reason for writing The Call of the Wild is that in 1897, Jack London decided to join the rush to the north in search of gold. He didn’t get anything from the Klondike gold rush; however, he didn’t leave the north empty handed. With the material he was able to gather there, he was able to make stories about his time in the Klondike. Jack made different stories about his adventure northward, and he was able to sell them to magazines and books. He was inspired by the harshness of the terrain and the will the animals had to survive. Another reason he wrote the book was to show people the ruthless events that could happen during the gold rush. He wanted to show hardships and how by pushing yourself, you can overcome an obstacle. Survival of the fittest is something that he witnessed while searching for gold, making him write a story of a dog going back to his primordial life in order to survive.

The theme for Jack London’s 1903 novel, “The Call of the Wild” is that only the strong survive the wilderness. The main character or protagonist is a dog named Buck. Buck was a slightly pampered dog living a happy and cozy life with his owners in the state of California but that all changed when he was abducted by two cruel men. Some examples of the many hardships he goes through is the brutal winters and cold weather, lack of food and clean water, lazy and or callous owners, and untrustworthy or fierce teammates.
After reading "The Call of the Wild", I've come to realize that it would be difficult living on the Klondike in the Yukon. The weather is very cold and life is very hard there. You'll understand better as I explain the story of the book to you.
During the Klondike gold rush thousands of work animals were used and abused. In the book Call of the Wild by Jack London many people had work dogs but they all had different perspective on them. Hal, Mercedes, and charles were inexperienced travelers that had a negative perspective on animals.
In schools and counties all over, the book The Call of the Wild is being banned from 8th grade curriculum. For reasons such as that the book is based on true events, that the book describes actions of animal abuse that still occur today, and that banning books causes illiteracy and it caused by illiteracy, I do not believe that The Call of the Wild should be taken out of 8th grade curriculum.
Animals: a species that have adapted to our ways of life, creatures of comfort, and figures of impotence. However animals also have a wild behaviors, an inner beast that they use to establish their own form of dominance. The theme of animals is as essential to the text as the spots of the cheetah, within the play, Medea written by the greek tragedian Euripides, he repeatedly uses animal imagery to stoutly betoken the strength and weakness of the eponymous character. Where she struggles between becoming a impotent creature to her environment and discovering her dominance. At first Euripides uses the motif of animal imagery to show how Medea is weak, but then

The author of The Call of the Wild, Jack London, heavily influenced the literary world with his inspirational works, specifically surrounding the theme of Naturalism. London followed the same theme, among others, in many of his works, focusing on how the environment affects its inhabitants and the details of the environment itself. The descriptions of nature London took the time to include in his books and the way they affect the story is what makes his works truly remarkable. He strongly committed himself to his works and put a great deal of effort into researching them to ensure accuracy. In The Call of the Wild, there are three main themes that are made evident: naturalism, coming of age, and loss of innocence. Naturalism is what London is most known for, and is shown through his attention to the surroundings of his characters. Coming of age was displayed through specific life changing events that altered Buck’s perspective. And finally, loss of innocence can be seen in the gradual, but sure decline of Buck’s morals.
