Though she only lived to some 35 years and her reign as Queen Consort of England lasted a mere three years, Anne Boleyn, loved by many among the royal court and referred to as the “great whore” by her many enemies, left a legacy that will last through the ages as one of the most famous and influential royals of all time. Ultimately, it was King Henry VIII’s romantic interest in the young Anne, and his desire to produce a legitimate male heir, that led him to disavow his relationship with Pope Clement VII and the Catholic Church, to found the Church of England and begin a period of religious and political change known as the English Reformation.

Anne’s story is nothing short of a tragedy; she died at the early age of fifteen from Typhus while being held by the Nazi Regime, in the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. Before dying, Anne and her family went into hiding and lived secretly in her father's office building in the Netherlands. While living in the “Annex,” a secret hiding place, she developed many interests such as reading and writing. Anne is famous because she is one of the best-known victims of the Holocaust, her story has been shared with millions in a publication of her diary, and through her writing’s she introduces many people to the massacre and its horror.

The Holocaust was one of the most tragic event in history when about six million Jews lost their lives to the Nazi. It was a very tragic and evil thing that the Nazi’s did. However, a Jewish girl, Anne Frank, said this: “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Through everything Anne and her family went through, she always saw the good in things. After reading the play about her diary, I would have to agree with Anne’s quote. One of the main reasons I am agreeing with Anne is the kind and selfless thing that she did for her family and the people in the Annex on Hanukkah. However, I can see why you might disagree with Anne and myself by Mr. Van Daan and his selfish and unkind actions.

Anne, who happens to be an eleven year old orphan at the beginning of the story, eventually gets adopted mistakenly by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. I read Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. This book is about a young orphan child, with a never-ending imagination, named Anne. Anne has been taken in and out of orphanages all her life. Until, one day Matthew Cuthbert and his sister, Miss Marilla Cuthbert, are interested in having a young boy to live with them. They called the orphanage and told them to send the child on the train. He goes to the train station to pick the child up, but to his surprise he found Anne. Anne tells Matthew how she imagines living there would be like. She was so set on staying that Matthew just couldn't leave her at the train station. He takes her to his house, and while on the journey, Anne is enjoying every moment of the beautiful flowered valleys.
