Anne Frank Analysis

Ever played a game of hide and seek? Well it was slightly like that for the Franks (A Jewish family living during the Holocaust) except they were forced to play, and if caught the consequences were deadly. The theme of Anne Frank is human growth involves pain, this is the theme because life can’t flow smoothly without a few bumps, there's always a few things you have to get past first. Anne Frank and her family were forced into hiding because they were Jewish, and Jewish people were discriminated against and killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust.

Thirteen year old Anne Frank is stuck in an attic for 2 years during World War II. This can sometimes take a toll on one's personality. Anne Frank's book titled "The Diary of Anne Frank" takes people through what it was like to be a Jewish teenager during World War II. Anne and her family was forced to move into hiding, because of the harsh measures being taken by Nazis to rid Europe of Jews. During Anne's time in the annex, readers get to know her well, as she changes from the beginning, to the end of her time in hiding. While Anne at the beginning is different from Anne at the end, she still is consistent in some of her personality traits throughout the entire book. Changes happen to all of us. The change may be good or it may be bad. We all experience changes and the changes reflect how we think, act, or talk in society. Every change is different and every change has different outcomes. In The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank change quite a lot throughout the story. She was very different from everyone else who hid with her in the annex, in good ways and bad ways. As she grows, she changes her personality, her mentality, and, most importantly, her emotions. She wanted to be respected and didn’t want to cause trouble, even though she did. As time went by, she started to change her emotions and felt more empathy.

Among the on million of the children killed was Anne Frank. Anne was a Jewish, teenage, girl who's family went into hiding. They stayed hidden for over two years in their Secret Annex. Over the course of these two years, she kept a dairy that has now been published. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl had been translated into over 60 languages and is read and studdied world-wide. She began the dairy at age thirteen and wrote her last entree at age fifteen. The majority of her diary talks about her time spent in the Secret Annex which was the back part of a spice warehouse owned by her father previous to the Neurenburg Race Laws. The Franks lived with another family, the Van Dann's, and another man named Dussel. On August 4, 1944 German officers stormed the Annex and arrested all families. They were then taken to a transfer camp called Westerbork. They spent roughly one month there before being moved to Auschwitz, a consentration camp. Once off the train men, women, and childern were all separated. That was the last time Anne saw her Father, Mr. Van Dann, Dussel, or Peter. This is when the dehumanization began. People working the camps strped them of glasses, jewlery, shoes, and anything else that made them a individual. Many, many people suffered during the Holocaust war. The Jews in particular were in grave danger. The drama ‘Anne Frank’ outlines so many ways that this historical event caused a shift in the mood of the characters and their relationships. Before the Holocaust, Anne Frank was just an ordinary Jewish girl living in Germany. A German leader named Adolf Hitler developed a plan to destroy the Jews and to rule over the specific places where they lived. What Hitler did to these poor Jews, and the sheer terror they endured at the hands of this Nazi leader is purely unfathomable.

In her diary, Anne Frank famously wrote, “In spite of everything, I still believe people are good at heart.” She was inspired to say this by the people who helped her, her positivity that showed, and everyone in the secret annex. Anne Frank and all of the other Jews were forced to go to concentration camps of go into hiding due to Hitler who was anti semitic. While in the annex, she kept a diary and after she was killed in the concentration camps, later on, this diary was published. After that, a play was made from her diary that was called The Diary of Anne Frank. Consequently, people were exposed to the heartbreaking story of Anne Frank, her family, and her friends. Don’t you hate it when your family and strangers treat you in a harsh way. Anne Frank was treated harshly by some people in the secret annex people would yell at her call her spoiled lazy and was always telling her what to do. But some people treated her nicely like Peter VanDaan and her dad in a way that made her feel loved by some people around her. Anne was a twelve year old girl when she was forced into hiding because she was a Jew in Nazi territory during WW2. Anne is treated by the people in the annex in many ways and that effects her character in such a way that changes her character.

"The Diary of Anne Frank" tells us a story about how her life as a Jew was drastically changing during the Holocaust and the start of World War II (WWII). She was a very intelligent young woman that had hopes and dreams. Anne was a normal teenager trying to find her way in life. All of that changed when the Nuremburg Race Laws were formed. Her father who was a World War I fighter hid his family and friends in a Secret Annex that was blended in with a normal neighborhood. In the second entry of Anne Frank's diary, Margot got a call-up from the SS, which forced the Franks to go into hiding in fear of their future. After Otto Frank came home, "Margot and I started packing our most important belongings into a schoolbag" (Frank para. 15). Margot and Anne went packing after their Father told them they were going into hiding. This was the same day that Margot got called-up.

In 1933, the nazi took power in Germany, which cause depression to a lot of people. At the beginning, Nazi defy the Jews, Gypsies, and the disabled. In March 1933, the first concentration camp was built and later on more concentration and death camps were made. A family named the Franks went into hiding with the Van Daans in Amsterdam. In “Anne Frank” the characters face adversity and conflict like man vs self, man vs nature, and man vs man that makes the “Diary of Anne Frank” a wonderful story.

Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party killed millions of people in the short time of six years during World War II. Other people, such as Anne Frank and her family, tried to avoid the cruel intentions of the Nazis by hiding in an annex for two years. The historical events of World War II affected the lives of Anne and the others hiding in the annex. Historical events in The Diary of Anne Frank causes extensive changes to the drama. Two primary changes that occur due to historical events are the character’s traits and the mood of the drama.

In the late 1930s and early 1940s the world experienced very traumatic events. Adolf Hitler comes to power in Germany. He banned all political parties, except the Nazis. Two of the families that were affected by his changes were the Franks and the Van Daans. Anne Frank was a member of the Frank family. Her family and the Van Daans experienced what was happening personally. During the time that she was forced to go into hiding, she kept a diary with her. The diary has become very important item for learning about the events that happened. Historical events are reflected in the play “The Diary of Anne Frank” by showing how what’s happening in the outside world affects the families that have had to go into hiding.

Many people were hurt by Adolf Hitler's plans and one thing he achieved was killing six million Jewish people including children. Anne Frank and her family were one of them. They lived in a secret and tiny annex where Otto used to work. They started off just going to stay there for a few months till the Allied Forces could invade Holland but that didn’t work out. In the drama wrote by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett eight people crowded into annex for 2 long years not being able to go outside. Many historical events were impacted in the drama Anne Frank. Even though these problems took place outside of the secret annex it changed the mood and relationships of the character.

Can you believe there was a time in recent history that a person could be tortured or put to death because of their race or belief? Anne Frank was one of the millions of Jews who die during the holocaust. The holocaust was a terrible event where Jews were being wiped from earth’s history and existent. Anne Frank wrote a diary of the daily events, she and her family had to go thru to try and survive. Her diary was found and published showing a young Jewish girl’s side of the holocaust and showing the many things that went wrong with the world.
