Could you even imagine begin tortured, being used for hard labor, and being given little to no food? And in the end to just to be killed. That’s what it felt like for every Jewish person in the Holocaust. But one jewish girl was able to look through all of the evil and sinister sins the Germans had done and still see the good in them. That girl is Anne Frank and her exact words were, “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Regardless of all of the devastation and suffering Anne has gone through, she still believes people have a kind, nicer side. And I strongly agree with her, she persuaded me by using her own self as an example without even trying to persuade me, her actions said it all. Since this is an opinion, I can see why people would disagree with Anne because of Mr. Van Daan and how he treated and cared for everyone, especially how he cared for himself.
What really convinced me to side with Anne was when she, herself, exposes to her dad, Mr. Frank, a secret that she has been keeping to herself. On page 65, Anne states, ¨… Every night before I go to sleep I think back over all the things I did that were wrong- … - and this thing with mother. I say to myself, that was wrong. I make up my mind I'm never going to do that again. Never! Of course I may do something worse - but at least I´ll never do that again. ( … ) I have a nicer side, Father- a sweeter, nicer side. But I'm scared to show it. … ¨ After reading this, I understand that
I disagree with Anne Frank because some people are rude, mean, nasty, and just plain evil, and don’t care about anyone, but themselves. There are tons of sings to separate the good people from the cruel ones. Good people are kind and loving people. Cruel ones don’t even know what love is or feels like. There are many reasons, but here are a few. One, The Nazi Soldiers were responsible for the deaths of more than 5.9 million Jews. Through murder, starvation, illness and deadly diseases (“Remembering the Holocaust”). Two, According to the movie, all men and woman were forced away
A major influence on Anne’s positivity was her father. Anne viewed her relationship with Otto Frank to be the closest in her life. In her diary she even said, “I love you father. I don't love anyone but you.” Throughout their forced captivity, Anne witnessed the compassion her father showed to others. Otto demonstrated kindness by inviting the Van Daans and Mr Dussel to live in the annex with them. Her father knew the risks of inviting more people to hide with them but he set aside the concerns about having enough food, or enough space, or even the threat of being betrayed because it
During this scene, Anne confessed that she had a nice side, but she was scared to show it. She would be nice, but she did not know what people would think about her. I think this is a big act of kindness because when you dig deeper and read on, you can find that she told Mr.Frank that the mean Anne comes out and the nice Anne stays on the inside. This shows how hard she has tried and nothing would work, she was kind hearted and felt differently
Remember that she is only a young teenager, and that she’s likely not aware of all the danger she’s truly in. Because of this, there is a huge impact on how she thinks of others. It’s a lot easier for her to believe that people are all good at heart this way. In her diary, Anne once said “I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains,” this quote shows how Anne recognizes all the hate and sadness in the world, but she always tries to look past it and see the beauty that is still there. This also shows Anne’s viewpoint on people, and how, unlike her, most people first see the flaws of other people, but she always tried to look past the poor parts and see the best in people. Also this is seen in the play, such as we saw how she is caring for her sister and father. That is the last piece of evidence I have that shows that Anne was a positive
The Holocaust was one of the most tragic event in history when about six million Jews lost their lives to the Nazi. It was a very tragic and evil thing that the Nazi’s did. However, a Jewish girl, Anne Frank, said this: “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Through everything Anne and her family went through, she always saw the good in things. After reading the play about her diary, I would have to agree with Anne’s quote. One of the main reasons I am agreeing with Anne is the kind and selfless thing that she did for her family and the people in the Annex on Hanukkah. However, I can see why you might disagree with Anne and myself by Mr. Van Daan and his selfish and unkind actions.
Jews have perished because of their beliefs since the beginning of time but never have so many Jews been persecuted worldwide as they were in World War II. Anne Frank’s diary reaches a place within all of our hearts because it reminds us how easily the innocents can suffer. Sometimes we may choose to close our eyes or look the other way when unjustifiable things happen in our society and Anne’s tale reminds us that ignorance, in part, claimed her life. Sadly, her story is but one of many of those who died in the Holocaust and as with other Jews, her fate was determined by the country she lived in, her sex and her age.
What defines a human? Is it the compassion for others? Is it the feeling of having a conscience? It is this and many more. Anne Frank once said, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who lived during the Holocaust. An event called the Holocaust was a time period during World War II in Europe where Jewish people were persecuted and we're treated like lesser people. Despite these harsh conditions, Anne Frank still remained positive. A question that might arise from this is, why did Anne write this, how did she feel during this ordeal, what does the quote reveal about her character and what does the quote reveal about her views on life?
Don’t you hate it when your family and strangers treat you in a harsh way. Anne Frank was treated harshly by some people in the secret annex people would yell at her call her spoiled lazy and was always telling her what to do. But some people treated her nicely like Peter VanDaan and her dad in a way that made her feel loved by some people around her. Anne was a twelve year old girl when she was forced into hiding because she was a Jew in Nazi territory during WW2. Anne is treated by the people in the annex in many ways and that effects her character in such a way that changes her character.
Anne Frank was a young girl who lived during the holocaust who lived during Hitler’s reign in Amsterdam. Only one problem: She was Jewish. In July of 1942, Margot Frank was called to report to a concentration camp. The Franks were forced into hiding in an annex behind Mr. Frank’s business. The Franks, along with the Van Pels and Mr. Pfeffer, hid in the annex for about two years. During her time in hiding, Anne confided in a diary. In her diary, she wrote “Despite everything, I believe people are really good at heart.” I agree with Anne. In my opinion, everyone is good at heart; they just show it in different ways. People do what they think is right. Even though there is evil in the world, I believe that deep down, everyone is good at heart.
Are people aware of their own good nature, are others aware of their good nature? Anne Frank’s statement, that people are truly good at heart, is true. The current generation and the past generation has had its faults, it’s troubles and events. For instance, the Holocaust and the recent Florida school shooting. Yet, there is always good in the world, no matter the tyrant. People will sacrifice their own for others. They have the ability to change their mind from the worst, to the best. Deep down, everyone cares for something.
One thing they have in common is they are all where home schooled. They all believed in the star of David religion. They are all Jewish kids or teens living in the secret annex with other families. They all died differently. However, I think this is where the similarity between the three teenagers ends.
The Holocaust is one of the saddest events where Natiz killed Jewish people just because of their religion. There were millions kill many went into hiding to try and get away and some were unsuccessful. Anne Frank was one of the many that went into hiding, and after all she went through she said this “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” When they were in hiding they had a lot of hard times where people were not very kind to each other, sure they were in a rough time and it can bring out the worst in people but I disagree with Anne.
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank is organized in chronological order and include the dates important to the Jewish author. On Anne’s thirteenth birthday, she receives a diary she calls “Kitty,” and this is where she records events that happened to her. Anne includes writings about her brief normal life and the life in the “Secret Annex.” She and her family are hiding from the Gestapo during WWII. As the story progresses, more Jews join the Franks. There is great conflict between Anne and the rest of the residents, though sometimes her father is “darling.” After a little more than two years in hiding, the German police discovered the secret Jews and sent them into labor camps, where Otto Frank was the only survivor. Anne matures and finds Peter at her side, even though there is tension between the other Van Daans and herself. Not only is there conflict between Mrs. Van Daan, but with Anne’s own mother and her roommate, Mr. Dussel.
Anne Frank’s diary is more suitable for S.S. classrooms and should be used for historical education more than anything else. First of all, Anne Frank’s diary is the best way to introduce children and students to the holocaust and the tragedies behind it. In an essay called “Anne Frank, The Holocaust Victim: The Controversy about her diary in school education, and the Controversy about Her Image” Jessica Landfried states that, “If students are taught the holocaust through numbers and statistics, the holocaust will seem distant. It is through the personal stories that students will want to learn about the tragedies of the war.” This quote shows that Anne Frank’s diary combines personal stories and the Holocaust to make the topic seem more approachable
Have you ever heard of the Holocaust? The Holocaust was a terrible time in history when Adolf Hitler was torturing many innocent Jews. He put them in concentration camps, but many tried to hid just like Anne Frank and her family. Anne Frank who was Jew, has a famous quote that says “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Even though throughout the “Diary of Anne Frank” we see that people are not always the best they could be, I agree with Anne and believe that everyone is still good at heart. One overall reason I chose that people are really good at heart are the acts of kindness Peter has throughout the book to Anne. However, I do know that there are two sides of an argument, I can see how some might
