World War II was a state of horrifying events, such as the Holocaust and the bombing of the Pearl Harbor. One major topic, is how the Jews survived the Holocaust and how they felt about it when it was over? What did they do during the time of the Holocaust? Did they leave a form of art that showed their struggle? Anne Frank’s diary is one of the examples that expressed how she felt during the Holocaust. She wrote in her journal about her life when she was hiding from the Nazis. In addition Elie Wiesel he wrote a book about his time in the Holocaust because he was a survivor. And Primo Levi he was also a Holocaust survivor, he wrote short stories, novels, essays, and poems. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. She lived with her family in Amsterdam during World War II. Her family went into hiding for two years, during those years Anne Frank decided to write about her feelings, thoughts, wishes, and experiences in her diary. Her first diary entry was on June 5, 1942, she wrote about her imaginary friend she said: “I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.” Anne Frank wrote this because she was hiding and never went outside for two years. She wrote it because her imaginary friend gave her comfort and will no longer make her feel lonely. In March 1945, Anne Frank died at the age of 15. Her father came back and was informed of his
