In Lesson 1 Video, at 2:38, I talk to the students about the Diary of Anne Frank where they inform me that they read have read this text in their previous middle school years. However, it is a requirement for the students to read it again in the 8th grade. I inform them that we will be reading the play version. At 6:05 I ask students about five elements that are common in other types of fiction (plot, conflict, setting, characters, and dialogue) the students have learned about these elements many times in this school year and activated their prior knowledge before learning the new elements. At 8:08, when we are discussing the differences in a monologue and soliloquy, I know that I have a student is in drama and has participated in many different …show more content…
Frank concerned about the legality of the ration books? What is the impact of Mr. Kraler’s distinction between the “black market” and the “white market”?
Lines 334–337: What does this comment by Mr. Kraler reveal about Mr. Frank?” The students then use the RACE strategy to answer the question. R stands for restating the question in the answer. this forces students to use textual references. I did not have students restate their answers word for word so it is not included in the clip. However, students did have to use textual references on the written answers.]
After viewing the video clips multiple times, I see many ways to improve the instruction and activities. Starting with Lesson 1 Video, I could have had a student summarize what was said in the video to assess what was comprehended from the video. I could have also stopped the video as predetermined spots to ask questions and further explain what the video states. Following up with questions and clarification would have been beneficial for the students who were confused. As for the Level Up Tutorial in video clip 1, I could have made paper copies of the tutorial questions for if the internet connection was not cooperating, which it wasn’t. With the paper copies, I could have made different stations to make it more interactive for the
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who died during World War II. In The diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, she said that “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” This shows that she is a caring and an understanding person that while this is happening, believe that all people are still good. Many of Anne’s Quotes show that she really believes that people are good on the inside. She really believes that everything in the world happens for a reason.
Mr. and Mrs. van Daan and their son Peter (who is a few years older than Anne) are also in hiding with the Franks. Anne’s adolescence is spent hidden from the outside world. She’s cooped up in tiny rooms, tiptoeing around during the day. After almost 2 years in hiding they are discovered and deported to concentration camps. Anne’s father, Otto Frank, is the only one of the eight people to survive. After her death Anne becomes world famous because of the diary she wrote while in hiding. Miep Gies is a Dutch woman who assists the annex residents with food, clothing, books, and companionship. She cheerfully assists them with the things they need and pitches in to give them holidays. Along with Elli, she retrieves and saves Anne's diary from the floor after the annex residents are arrested (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miep_Gies). Miep Gies and her husband took action and helped their Jewish friends. This situation affected their daily lives in many different ways. The fact that Miep and her husband helped the Jews, knowing that they
The holocaust was a horrible time in people's lives and it killed six million people. Even though this happened to so many people Anne Frank was someone that so many people look up to because of her diary that she wrote during this time. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Danns all spent 25 months in the secret annex. Dussel was someone that came in later so it was very tight for 8 people to be living under certain circumstances for that long. They hoped to stay hidden until they were liberated but they were caught and sadly the only one that lived through the concentration camps was Mr.Frank. Many historical events took place in Anne Frank. Even though most of these things occurred while they were in hiding, it still changed the characters mood and relationships.
Adept in writing, Anne Frank also exceeds in the articulation of her sentences. Never does she stray from the topic at hand nor create a sentence that doesn’t flow to another smoothly. Evidence of such writing lies in the following, “How noble and good everyone could be if, at the end of each day, they were to review their own behaviour and weigh up the rights and wrongs. They would automatically try to do better at the start of each new day and, after a while, would certainly accomplish a great deal.” (Frank 326). As shown, Frank’s words pertain to one another and transition effortlessly to guide her topic. Furthermore, proper separation is utilized as well as differing introductory words for each new thought; eliminating any chance of repetition
Ever played a game of hide and seek? Well it was slightly like that for the Franks (A Jewish family living during the Holocaust) except they were forced to play, and if caught the consequences were deadly. The theme of Anne Frank is human growth involves pain, this is the theme because life can’t flow smoothly without a few bumps, there's always a few things you have to get past first. Anne Frank and her family were forced into hiding because they were Jewish, and Jewish people were discriminated against and killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust.
Who is the most phenomenal young woman in history? A girl, only 13 years of age, by the name of Anne Frank who was forced into hiding. Hiding was necessary because she was a Jew in the time of the World War 2. Going into hiding made her a fugitive. Anne Frank scurried into hiding, with her family, the day her sister, Margot received, a letter in the mail wanting her to report to a concentration camp.
Well Anne Frank was in hiding since she was 13 until she was 15 then it is believed that Lee Ashlers knew were the Franks were hiding and this is who is believed to have snitched on them. Which is said to be confirmed by his 82 year old brother Cas Ashlers. Anne has a famous quote which is “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Personally I agree with Anne’s famous quote yet, I can see why people can be on the side of disagreement because of Mr. Van pels(Dann) actions as well as Mr.Pfeffer (Dussel).
Many, many people suffered during the Holocaust war. The Jews in particular were in grave danger. The drama ‘Anne Frank’ outlines so many ways that this historical event caused a shift in the mood of the characters and their relationships. Before the Holocaust, Anne Frank was just an ordinary Jewish girl living in Germany. A German leader named Adolf Hitler developed a plan to destroy the Jews and to rule over the specific places where they lived. What Hitler did to these poor Jews, and the sheer terror they endured at the hands of this Nazi leader is purely unfathomable.
Holocaust was one of the most terrible events that happened in history. This event occurred during World War II when Hitler was the leader of Germany. In 1933 the Nazis took control of Germany. Hitler had no right to do any of this stuff to them since they didn't do anything to him. Jewish people didn't have a fun time when all of this was happening since everything was happening to them. Over six million Jewish people were murdered by the Nazis at this time. Hitler and the Nazis army used fear to gain control of the government and the German people. Hitler took over Jewish men, women, and children's lives. Hitler was that mean that everyone that opposed what he said had to go to concentration camps even if they weren’t Jewish. Hitler didn’t

What do you think your life would have been like if you were in the Holocaust? It may seem like a terrible situation, but one girl ,Anne Frank, seemed to always find the good in people. The last words in her diary were “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” These last famous words of Anne Frank let the world know that know matter what happens ,there is always good in people. Anne’s family faced many problems and fears in the annex. From, the diary, Anne left ,I agree with Anne’ quote. I am siding with Anne because Mr.Frank was selfless, trusting, generous, and willing. Mr.Frank cared and thought for other people. He is described by Anne’s quote even if he did go through some
The quote that Anne states in her diary on July 1944 was, “In spite of everything, I still believe people are good at heart”, was a way for Anne to show what she was really made up of on the inside. Anne is a really kind person in her heart. Anne is also a very caring person because of some of the things she does such as give presents. Anne tries to stay positive in every situation that she can, even when things get bad. And that is why I think Anne thought of that quote while writing in her diary about daily events that happened before and while in the secret annex.
The Diary of Anne Frank is about a girl that kept a diary while hiding from Nazi’s in Amsterdam for two years. The diary ends when the Nazi’s found her and her family. Her whole family was killed in exception for her father. She was given the journal on her thirteenth birthday. She simply summarized her life for two years in this phenomenal journal.
It was one of the many saddest events that occurred in the history of the world. In the following paragraphs you will be reading a summary or a “movie review”, what ever might call it, about Anne Frank. At the end of the review I will write about my opinion to the movie.
On September 3, 1944 the group of Jewish prisoners were deported on what would be the last transport from Westerbork to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. They arrived after a three day journey. When they arrived the men were forcibly separated from the women and children. There was 1091 passengers and 549 including all children were directly sent to the gas chambers. The other females that were not selected for immediate death, Anne was forced to strip down naked to be disinfected, her head was shaved, and was tattooed with an identification number on her arm.
