What makes a chef a “celebrity chef”? The author employs a definition to this question so well that made the unfamiliar subject familiar to me. Babilonia’s entire narrative is built on one single example, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. The author devotes her essay to define and argue his subject that we, the audience might not have ever thought of. The thesis statement illustrates her main point in defining a new king of chef a celebrity chef “Celebrity chefs have had a great influence on our culture: they have changed our ideas about celebrity and about the social status of the chef; they have redefined the kind of food ordinary people can have, and transformed the way men feel about cooking.” Celebrity chefs are opposite of the regular chef.

The Chef is a great film about a Head Chef, who quits his high-end restaurant job and buys a food truck to reclaim his creative promise; while piecing back together his estranged family. It is strongly agreed with LA Times writer Gary Goldstein whom stated, “Warm, dimensional and intuitive, this Carl proves an ideal combo of top dog and underdog-as well as a thoroughly credible kitchen master.” The Chef can be highly recommended for many different reasons. One may say, for the famous A List cast members like Sofia Vergara and Henry Winkler. Sofia Vergara is one of the main actors of Modern Family. Henry Winkler is also, a known top actor from the 1970’s sitcom Happy Days. Another reason this film maybe highly recommended is for its great scene locations. The Chef was filmed in many different foods from the fancy restaurants to the Farmers Market; where the food is displayed in a way that enhance four of your five human senses. Maybe The Chef can be recommended for the eye catching landscapes locations from the streets of New Orlando to the beaches of Florida. However, one may say the film is an overwhelming delightful watch, because it is Jon Favreau writing and directing.
