Scott is uncertain if he can do it and Pym's daughter who thinks she should be the one to go agrees. But Pym thinks Scott is the one. So they train him while trying to make sure Cross doesn't suspect anything. I guarantee that if you watch this
When most people think about the power structure of a couple driving in the car they instantly think that the driver is the one with all the power. This of course makes logical sense, as the driver has control over the speed, destination and driving style of the couples transportation. Although this makes logical sense, there are a few exceptions to this train of thought, as when crime becomes a factor the power structure begins to shift toward the benefit of the passenger. Laderman mentions in his book Driving Visions that many road movies focus on a couple driving in a car, but this generally “furnishes narrative tension between the two people traveling together” (17) and this is incredibly true when the passenger is a criminal. We will be examining how crime
The film “Juvies” really made me think about how the criminal justice system treats young children. Before watching the film, I was under the impression that children were treated fairly and with care when they commit a crime. After all, they are just kids. However, to my surprise, this was not the case. Many children have been cheated by the law because they are put through the adult system and are not given a fair trial. Meanwhile, these children are expected to make the rational decisions that an adult would make. There is biological evidence that kids do not have the ability to control impulsive behavior because their brains are underdeveloped. Thus, I believe this system is extremely unfair because children are not protected in adult prisons, which makes it very difficult for them to succeed once they are released back into the free world.
Apocalypse now illuminates the horror, and the atrocities of what war can cause. It showed how one can go in a normal citizen and return unable to make contact with the world without feeling out of place. As the characters move forward into metaphorical fog and darkness, the film introduces the idea that war reels in a darkness hidden within. In the first scene Willard is introduced as an already broken man, he’s back from his first tour and already feels compelled to start his second. Questions about his sanity begin to rise, how far has he been pushed off edge? Shattered mirror, and divorce papers by his side only maximizes the realization of how distant he is from his old self. This illustrates how war is capable to change an individuals
The first, and biggest, cause for concern, who on Earth is Ant-Man? With an almost infinite roster of comic book characters to choose from, making an Ant-Man movie was not the obvious choice. Ant-Man is an Avenger. If memory serves correct he might even be the founding member of the Avengers, but he is by no means the most popular Avenger. Ant-Man is B a level comic book hero at best. Not only is he relatively unknown, what are his powers? He can shrink. That would be cool is this were
Roger Ebert described Wit as a movie that hurts too much (Ebert, 2008), and I have to agree. From the first scene, Dr. Vivian Bearing is a character that draws me in. The preciseness of her speech demands respect and her matter of fact observations vividly display the irony of her situation, adding humor to a subject that would seem impossible. The doctors, in their own form of precise speech, manage to strip all humanity from practicing medicine; making it clear that their intentions were on advancing the science rather than helping the patient. While Bearing told the audience the truth of how she was feeling and what her thoughts were, she gave the doctors the answers they wanted to hear, and in doing so, she gave up the ability to have a peaceful death. It makes one wonder, how often do we know the truth from the patient’s perspective?
All this talk of Ant-Man and the Wasp coming on screen is apparently a bit premature and everyone's Marvel nerves are already excited about the "coming out" of Hope as the Wasp but Ant-Man director Peyton Reed has actually not officially signed on to join the sequel.
The first favorite movies I like is Dead Pool because I like when dead pool was walking on the road and he did not now that they were two spy’s so Dead Pool thought that they were going to hit him so he starting hitting them in their faces and their legs.
I approached Ant-Man with the largest amount of skepticism of the Marvel movies to date, solely based on the fact that, despite not knowing anything about it, I was a huge believer in the original Edgar Wright vision. His public separation from the project was a massive disappointment and, I assumed and even hoped, would be indicative of the ultimate failure of the film both critically and financially. Like a kid who just witnessed his friend go through a bad break-up with his high school sweetheart, I wanted her next one to be a mistake. Much to my surprise and director Peyton Reed's credit, I was mistaken and Ant-Man ended up being one of the more personal and entertaining films to come out of the studio yet. It's a great counterpoint to
X-men: First Class- after seeing this movie I became a huge fan of the x-men series and believed they were going in a right path for this.
In the Huffington post article pertaining to the movie review of Ant Man it was stated that Paul Rudd was a charming and in their words “He plays it just right” which is additionally the opinion of many Ant Man fanatics. In the movie rudd plays Scott Lang a cat-like thief who could sneak through any security, who lost custody of his daughter due to his attraction to devious acts of thievery. After this defining crisis in his life he was saved by Dr. Hank Pynn a not so mad scientist who gives him a second chance at life by turning him into the hero Ant Man. He used him as Ant Man because of his expertise in the field of thievery nevertheless this final heist wouldn't be like one he had ever done before. The special effects said Rudd were unbelievable.
Hollywood, throughout time has often been portrayed as a land of mystery and wonders, and glamorous lifestyle. It is common belief that the people in Hollywood are successful and living the American dream, and the struggles and the dark side of Hollywood are usually overlooked, and the failures, that are more common than the successes, are not addressed as much as the alluring aspect of it. therefore, the views are not shared with people who have made it in Hollywood; Hollywood is an autobiographical fiction novel, about the process of writing “Barfly”, and turning it into a movie. Hollywood pictures a writer’s views on the high and lows of Hollywood, as he’s new to the society, and he narrates the struggles he and the cast went through to
I recently watched the best animated superhero movie of the century because it was funny and filled with action and adventure.
The poster of the movie is called “Ant Man” shows a picture of the main character in a suit which is considered a superhero after he accidentally stole the suit. Ant Man really means that once he puts on that special suit, he transformed into a size of the ant and being able to transfer back to normal size. The two other characters behind him is the man who created the suit, and the man’s daughter who later helps Ant Man how to use his super powers. The three guys underneath are the enemies. The man on the bottom left is the main villain who wants the suit to create an army of them with the technology he has. The other two men on the bottom right are his henchmen which act on his side and listen to his commands to take down Ant Man. Ant Man
Split M. Night Shyamalan’s movie Split starts out with three girls, Casey, Marcia, and Claire, that are being picked up by one of their dad’s. Instead of her dad getting in the car, a strange man jumps in the car. One of the girls question who he is and states that he may have the wrong car. Then he puts a mask on and knocks them unconscious with some kind of gas. Right away we know that the man has a mental problem because in the next scene they are being held captive, and he tries to make one of them dance naked for him.
There are so many movies. Most of the time when someone asks you what your favorite movie is, you have to stop and think for a moment. I would most likely say the first movie than popped into my head. Unless if I really thought about it. If I had to pick my favorite movie I would choose a movie like “Central Intelligence”, or “Ride Along”. I like these movies and others because they are absolutely hilarious. I enjoy movies that make me laugh instead of ones that are dull or boring. I also like the characters in them. Kevin Hart is an actor and a comedian, so every movie I have seen with him in it, is super funny. This movie is unlike other movies because it has actors like Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell, and Dwayne Johnson. Those are some of my favorite
