I have been attending Anthem Prep for five consecutive years and I am applying the role of Freshman Class Representative. To make it more interesting for our students to get involved, Anthem Prep has been making changes to its student life and topics relating to it. Though our school has made significant progress, I believe the upcoming student government will improve our student body and their lives on campus. Students are often afraid to present their incredible ideas and bring them forth to the table and I want to be a voice for those students. I have strong public speaking skills which allow me to communicate easily with students. These communication skills are beneficial because I can gather different ideas from students and I can come
Since I have been elected a senator of Marymount Student Government Association (MSGA) at Marymount California University, I am responsible for representing a voice of the student body and the creation of community at the university. As a senator, I have to be present at all meetings of the student government, have a working knowledge of Marymount’s governing documents, accomplish three hours of service for student government’s projects and activities per month, attend all institutional committees as scheduled by the Executive Board, and also participate in all retreats and trainings provided by the Marymount Student Government Association.
At the moment, as student body president of my high school, my goal is to not only represent my school to the best of my ability but to also inspire and lead the student body. Since my Freshmen year, I've longed to have a voice and position in the school where I could actually make a difference. During my Freshman year I ran and was elected class secretary. Sophomore year I decided to step it up and was elected student body secretary, but it didn't seem to do the trick. I wasn't able to voice my ideas as much as I had liked. So, by the end of my Junior year I decided to run for student body president. Now, I'm gearing up for an amazing year. To specify, some ideas I hope to establish are a larger-than-life student section at games, a peer-mediating
Four students voted in favor of changing the fundamental structure of student government at Houston Community College. The motion passed.
A driven student, I devote myself to successfully take advantage of the opportunities Tri-M will afford me; therefore, I am interested in becoming President of Tri-M this year. I have been involved in Tri-M ever since I was a freshman and have enjoyed it thus far. This year, I hope to express my passion of the club by leading it; my philosophy on leadership involves leading by example, always helping, and never quitting. I plan to formulate new ideas for the club as well as put these ideas into action. With my determination to succeed, I will ensure the goals of the club are met and make the club more well-known at school. I will also reach for as many opportunities as possible. As President, I want to exceed expectations. I know that this
I would like to declare my intention to run for the position of Academic VP. Over the course of the past 8 months I have had the opportunity to talk with many of you. Through these interactions, I have tried to gain a better understanding of what we, as a class, think the academic direction should be taken in. This is an important topic that I think should be at the forefront of all of class council, not only the Academic VP. The Academic VP is responsible for working directly with the faculty to reinforce the needs and wants of the class. Being an advocate for the students means fighting to make sure that each student has a fair chance at success. A big part this role is the relaying of question challenges made by the class to keep exams and quizzes fair for all students. This is an extremely important role that I would not take lightly, should you choose me to be your academic VP.
This year, I have upheld our Mercy Core Values in athletics, student leadership, and in the classroom. During my freshman year, I joined the crew team. As a part of the team, I learned how to collaborate with seven other girls in my boat. Without collaboration and patience, we would not have be able to succeed. This year, I was also elected as a representative on Student Council. I had such a great year as a representative, and hope to continue it next year. I have contributed in the MMA classroom by explaining a concept to a classmate, and participating during every class. I think my teachers will support me in running for student representative because they see that I am engaged in learning and love being a leader. I think my peers should
The minute I walked through the doors of Audubon High School I knew this would be a prodigious four years for me. There is a multitude of extraordinary students, teachers, counselors, and administrators that make our high school the way it is. Part of the reason Audubon High School is such a success is because of its student council. My intentions for student council is to help provide a safe place where students can comfortably speak their voice and be more involved in school functions.
My school is a very small school with grades 6 through 12, under 400 students. This year, the Junior High decided not to have a student council, so High School stepped up and took charge of all things spirit. I have always liked helping in student council. I have been a member all of my high school career, but this year I decided to help take charge and put my best effort into making the whole school a more spirited place by becoming Student Council President.
Hello A.S.B. members! I am Jordan Tran, a student in need of breaking out of his comfort zone in order to be a successful supporter of Bolsa Grande High School. The Bolsa Grande Associated Student Body has multiple opportunities for a student to improve their leadership and responsibility. I want to improve my leadership and take action in helping the school in anyway possible! I will take responsibility in all my actions in order to work well with others to benefit our community and school campus. Joining A.S.B., I want to provide: my service, positivity, and perseverance to help plan school events for my fellow students to enjoy.
One of the most noteworthy experiences that I have encountered was my election into Student Council as the President and subsequently confronting its demanding executive responsibilities. Being exceedingly passionate and fascinated with government and politics, I became progressively wary of the dogmatic gridlock in Congress in addition to the relentless arguments that ensue over crucial issues in the country that no politician would venture to select a definitive position. However, with student government, I incessantly witnessed compromise and negotiation with the council’s representative and an inclination to achieve advancement regardless of political and social disparities. When I first assumed the Presidency in the spring, there was an
When I entered my current position in Associated Student Body (ASO), I entered with a vision and ideas for the school’s structure and methodologies. Up till then, our student government was a “one man show”. In order to change that, I recruited 3 judicial courts members, whom I guided on a daily basis, re-defined responsibilities and tasks throughout, and spearheaded the formulation of a new research methodology. The new methodology gave our ASO an edge over other colleges and universities, and established the organization as a brand name for quality service and commitment.
Student government is an opportunity for students not only to learn responsibility and leadership skills, but also to communicate more intimately with our school and improve our experience. The Junior Council is an extension of this, the next step on the metaphorical ladder. With this in mind I, Lauren Wadsworth, aim to join this council. Further, I am incredibly qualified to do so. I have experience working on the Leadership Team to prepare school events, I am an exemplary student, and I do what I can to make student life more comfortable. From holding open doors to helping with homework, I do my best to make Anthem Prep a better place.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to make the senior year of my class the best. This past year I tried my best to raise money for our prom, I bought our class shirt and gave all my spare change for tattoos during the football season. I always try my best to meet a goal that I set myself and most of the time I over exceed it. Throughout my high school career, I’ve been becoming more responsible and independent and I believe that being a class representative will improve my leadership skills and help me out with interacting more with my class. I want to be there making sure that our plans as a class get through and done and make this last year unforgettable for all
Towards the end of my freshman year of highschool, I had faced several challenges that changed my view as a public speaker. Ninth grade was the opportunity to get a general idea of what Southwest CTA had expected from its students. After reflecting, I realized how much I had yet to learn as an incoming freshman. Southwest, like most Career and Technical Academies, was centered around the concept of Project Based Learning. With this, comes teamwork exercises, overwhelming workloads, and oral presentations. For as long as I could remember, however, public speaking had always been one of my greatest weaknesses. Whether it was a simple in-class presentation or a
