In a different world, Po’s father, Mr. Ping from Kung Fu Panda, says to Po, “Sometimes we need to the wrong things for the right reasons.” There are many instances where this quote stands true, like in Antigone, Twelve Angry, and the decisions by Harry S. Truman and Edward Jenner. There was success but there was also consequences in doing these wrong things. In any event, in some situations, it is right to do the wrong thing for the right reasons.
In Sophocles’s play, Antigone, the main character Antigone makes the conscious decision of doing what she thinks is right for her family. After Pericles’ death, Antigone and Ismene are arguing and Antigone exclaims, “But I will bury him; and if I must die, I say that this crime is holy,” (Pg.

I want to hear more. The vote in ten to two,” (Rose 25). As you can see, Juror #8 changes his vote to “Not Guilty”, even though he thinks it's wrong, but it’s for the right reason because he is giving his support to Juror #9, who feels strongly about the defendant being innocent even though there was a murder. This shows that Juror #8 cares about justice and is willing to stand up against a crowd to do what he thinks is right. At the end of the deliberation, the vote is 11 for not guilty and 1 for guilty, and Juror #3 stand alone. The 8th and 4th Jurors both make a short and final plea, and the 3rd Juror finally concedes, saying, Alright, Not Guilty,” (Rose 63). Furthermore, Juror #3 strongly believes that the defendant is guilty, but he has to vote not guilty, because it is the right decision even though he believes it is wrong. Juror #3 votes not guilty because even though he thinks the decision is wrong, because it is not easy to send off a boy to die when the vote is 11 guilty and 1 guilty. This shows that Juror #3 is doing something right and voting ¨Not Guilty¨ which was against his wishes. In conclusion, Juror #3 and #8 both make conscious decisions supporting what is right even though, in someway, they thought the defendant was guilty. To add on, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States, was a wrongful action for the right reasons because the Japanese struck first, with attacking Pearl Harbor. Harry S. Love makes people do unreasonable things. There are different types of love, such as, family, relationship, and friendship. Most people think that love is an essential for the human body because love makes people do excellent things. They argue that people need love to inspire themselves. But really when people love another person, it brings pain to them because people go into a different planet, it means when they are loving someone too much people do not see the truth because the love that they feel for this person is blinding them. For example, in Antigone the character Antigone breaks the law to bury her brother. She claims that “I am going now to make a grave/ For our brother, whom I love” (78). She does not care about Creon’s law because Antigone just wants to follow the truth according her wishes about god.
Fear can be negative in situations because one person could fear for another. I have a connection or an example with fear because I have a fear for my sister with her husband because she is obviously not allowed to see my family. Fear makes people think that when they have fear, they are not behaved when somebody is in danger for example which is negative.
Family is supposed to be the ultimate support, everlasting, and always ready to forgive. In Antigone by Sophocles, Creon is immersed in a “power trip” that alienates and even kills his family. He caused his son, Haemon’s death, his wife, Eurydice’s death and Antigone’s death. Creon views himself as the perfect leader, believes he is always correct, and in turn has to live with the guilt of three deaths that were his fault.
Love can drive a person to do things that may seem honorable but can lead to dire consequences. In the play, Antigone, Sophocles creates Antigone to have an irrational one. There is a way she could have saved herself but, she choses not to pursue it because she felt it was more honorable to die with her brother rather than to stay on earth and help her grieving sister.
Antigone is a tragic story written by Sophocles. By watching the movie and reading the story, the characters are Creon, Antigone, Ismene, Polinices, Haemon, Tiresias, Eurydice of Thebes and Sentry. The major theme of Antigone is the conflict between man-made laws and religious laws.
Antigone is a classic work that never ceases to be analyzed by critics and students around the world. The debate over who is the real tragic hero of Sophocles’ play Antigone is a topic that is heavily discussed. To this day there is still no agreement. Some people believe that Antigone is the real tragic hero of this tragedy, while others believe that the hero is in fact her uncle, Creon. It is logical to say that Antigone is the tragic hero of Antigone more so than Creon because she is a likeable character, extracts pity from the audience, and her plight affects many.

Thought it's be a routine day at the pub, manning the stills, Alas, I spoke too soon, The Bard had come a runnin' from the forest hills, A sihouette lit up by the moon. "Gather ye all, whether friend or foe, and hearken to my tale of woe!" This and that he went and cried, 'Come for a hapless tale, chock-full of flies!'
There are many similarities and differences between Antigone by Sophocles and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The adults in both of the books have the difficult job of controlling the actions of the younger characters. Their decisions have a crucial effect on the outcome of the books, for the younger characters that they guide are the main figures in their stories. Antigone’s King Creon and Romeo and Juliet’s Prince Escalus and Lord Capulet share but also have unique strengths, weaknesses, leadership qualities, and crisis-managing techniques.
Svelte spectres sensed a ripple through their demarcation: this bought their attention from the small, dark crevices of their asylum. Beckoned by enticing nostalgia, their wary eyes came alight, hoping. In the dark, dank environment of the edifice, the light of the waning moon shone clearly through the transparent glass - ricocheting off the crystal vase like a million sparks of kaleidoscope with the disturbance, whilst drapes fluttered with non-existent breeze as their silent footsteps took hold of the empty hallways. Their sullen glances spoke volume amongst them whilst they gathered and stewed with vibrating stillness. Hearing a distant sound of an incoming traveller, variegated reflections seemed to dance before the listeners’ eyes, transfixing them toward the entrance. This was how they were as the Traveller rode upon his horse - anxious of what was to come, toward them. Will they finally
Conflict is at the heart of any tragedy, especially Greek tragedy. Conflict helps the writer to evoke in the audience the emotions of fear, pity and sorrow. Sophocles’ ‘Antigone’ and Jean Anouilh’s ‘Antigone’ may differ in context, theme, social and political backdrop as well as style of presentation but both the plays end with death and misery caused by conflict. The theme of conflict remains the same and serves as an important element in both the plays. The element of conflict exists between all the characters, be it Antigone and Creon, Creon and Haemon, or Antigone and Ismene.
"I would not count any enemy of my country as a friend." In the play Antigone, written by Sophocles, Antigone finds herself torn apart between divine law and state law. The play opens up at the end of a war between Eteocles and Polyneices, sons of Oedipus and brothers of Antigone and Ismene. These brothers, fighting for control of Thebes, kill each other, making Creon king of Thebes. Creon, as king, gives an important speech to the citizens of Thebes, announcing that Eteocles, who defended Thebes, will receive a proper burial, unlike his brother Polyneices, who brought a foreign army against Thebes. This speech introduces the major conflict of divine law versus state law. Furthermore, Creon cherishes order and loyalty above all else.
"Tragedy , then is an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain magnitude; in language embellished with each kind of artistic ornament, the several kinds being found in separate parts of the play; in the form of action, not of narrative; through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions" (Aristotle VI). When one reads a tragedy, a series of emotions are conducted throughout ones' body and those emotions are the connection between literature and art. If one were to look at a group of seemingly meaningless words manifested on a piece of paper it would give the thought of confusion, but when the words are naturally streamed together the sense of unity embraces a beautiful arrangement of parts. The necessity of structure and form in literature and art are necessary for the success of the work. A piece of fabric will never become a beautiful dress without the outline therefore, the structure and form give the literature and art a place to grow and flourish.
Choices affect all of our lives. We are always faced with choices. What we do with those choices will determine how are lives will turn out, what destiny lies before us and even what will become of us. The choices we make are in our complete control. Whether we make choices during the heat of the moment or with an open mind there are going to be consequences that follow whether good or bad are can only be blamed on us. Sophocles's Antigone portrays human emotions and consequences that follow two distinct choices. We can broaden the spectrum by saying that Creon represents public policy and Antigone represents individual conscience. According to E.S. Shuckburgh we must examine which is more important 'state law or
