With the multitude of characters and their thought provoking pasts, one can certainly learn much from their perseverance and determination. The rating I would give it would be four and one half out of five. The book itself was delightful and captivating, as well as the intriguing characters, but the tone was sometimes a bit slow and could be a boring to some degree. Any minor characters in this book seemed so much more than one would expect from non-fiction. The characters in general mentioned in this story were often given many descriptive details and did not seem like they were just there for show. This book is a very good book. It is not one of my favorite books, but it is in, or somewhat close to, the top ten list. It has an intriguing story and has some humor in it to make sure that it isn’t all mellow.

One of the things about the book that I personally liked was the characters, some of them were easy to relate to, even if you couldn't you could relate someone you knew with them. For example, David is not one of the main characters from the story but the more you learn about him, the more you realize how ambitious he is, wanted to change his career path almost every week, standing up to Mr. Neck. I think he's one of the things that helped Melinda find her voice.

I feel that, this novel is a good read for teenagers, because by reading it they can learn to accept there differences and themselfs . In our world today, nobody likes to be different, in fact most people try to change themselves. In the novel, it talks about how Calvin became secofenic. At first when Calvin found out the news , he imedily says that his mental illness was is a death of being normal. In the end Calvin learns to accept himself, and I think that teenagers need to do the same because, in world full of normal people, we need people who stand can out and make a change.

I would recommend this book to an audience of people who like science fiction or people who like adventure or suspense. It captured my attention from the beginning. I like how the Rand was descriptive words to help me have an image of what was happening in the novel. I like the story line. I like the idea of someone breaking way from everyone else and being different from others. That they are able to think for themselves and that it is ok to be different from others. As the overall book, I actually kind of liked it because it was kind of hard to understand because they couldn’t use “I” and I like challenges. They had to use “We” instead of using “I” to explain they self or the story. The book was okay as a whole but still kind of hard to understand I got kind of irritated after a while, while I was reading the book because of the way it was written.

I didn't much care about the main character Jacqui. She brings absolutely nothing to the story. She considers herself worldly and experienced, but she came across very naive. But not a lot happens to her so she was easily ignored. Eliza is one of the most horrible characters I've ever read about. She wasn't written badly, she's just a bad person. She's shallow and vapid. Only considers people who are rich and beautiful, and is unbearably rude to those who aren't. She's has some seriously unhealthy views on life in general and love in particular. Mara was great. She's a smart girl from a small time, has a firm grasp on reality and on what in life really counts. Though she does give in to peer pressure a couple of times, but that's not surprising considering she likes to keep the peace and avoids conflict at all costs.

This book has everything you could want a good plot, its entertaining, unique and fun characters that you can connect. This was one of those books that once you started; it’s hard to put down. Merry is a strong woman that I myself can relate. Her friends Pish and Shilo are unique and they reminded me of a few friends I have, Lizzie and Alcina are typical young people who add a lot to the story.
