When I arrived AP had received his medication and was up cleaning his room and completing his laundry. AP walked in and introduced himself and shook my hand. I asked AP what he wanted to do today and if he was interested in attending the Air Plane Show. He informed me he enjoyed watching plays at Goldies and attending the movies. He stated, "I attend the movies every Saturday." AP cleaned his room and I asked him if he wanted me to vacuum his room. I vacuumed his room and AP went back into his room to watch television. AP was very productive this morning with cleaning his room and getting his laundry completed. AP and I went to Walmart, Radio Shack, Kmart, and Los Cabinos to eat. AP and his roommate went window shopping. AP has complained about
The underlying theme of the story is women having no right to freedom of expression.
The first sentence makes the room sound wonderful, open for her to explore and enjoy her time in. However the barred windows and “rings and things” is a red flag.
The Unlikely Hero of Room 13b in my eyes is a stupendous book that expresses many emotions that eventually rubbed off onto me. Just to give a visual, this novel is about a group of OCD young adults that try to “get fixed”, as they say. In the meantime Chuck, the therapist for the bunch decides to make each one of the members to mentally become a superhero. Immediately as this project starts Robyn a new student chooses to be Robin as her superhero, and Adam another student who already knows they are soul mates decides to be Robyn’s Batman.
MT picked CT up from school where he was outside playing with his peers. MT observed CT laughing and being playful and as he was leaving with MT, his friends came up to him and gave him a hug goodbye along with his teacher. In the car drive to get the other client CT was asked MT what activity they was going to do during the session. MT expressed since all of the CTs had a good week with behaviors they was going to go bowling. CT showed eagerness and sang along to the music in the car. When MT picked up a CT to go bowling, both CTs showed excitement to go bowling together. While driving to the bowling alley, both CTs talked about random topics. At the bowling alley, MT had both CTs use one bowling ball to help them work on taking turns and
When Manny asked “Do you want me to include the counterclaim in this body paragraph or do you want me to make a new paragraph for it?” I was taken aback. By inquiring about his educational experiences, I learned that he attended a middle school with high expectations. His eighth grade English teacher emphasised expository writing and helped her students write many essays. I told Manny that I was excited to read his work and challenge him to improve his writing. But, within a few weeks, Manny shut down. He stopped writing. He withdrew from class. He became defensive when I attempted to help him. I set up a meeting with his clinician after school one day. Manny begrudgingly participated in the meeting, but became visibly upset after I kindly explained, “You are fortunate that you are entering high school with advanced writing skills. Your strong critical thinking skills are evident in your participation in class discussions. The door to college will be open to you. I am looking forward to helping you get there.” Sounds nice, but that conversation led to a six-month shut down. Even after many meetings with campus adults, Manny refused to participate in class. Manny has a fixed mindset and my comments about his innate intelligence and potential put too much pressure on him. When he faced a challenge in class, he
After touring the campus with the AAT program from SPC, I know in my heart that LCU is where God is calling me to be. I went to a private school until my freshmen year and it was the best thing my parents could have done for me. I loved the atmosphere and values that were instilled into me. I hope that I am able to attend LCU so that I can receive a quality education while developing a deeper relationship with Christ and being surrounded by people with the same morals and values as
CM travel to YMCA in Newark to visit Justin this morning. Upon CM arrival Justin had not come in from dropping a youth of with the shelter staff. CM set at a empty table for at least 5-10 minibus before Justin arrived. Justin was very excited to see CM, he even greeted me with a hug. CM expresses to Justin that I notice he appears to be in a great mood. Justin informs CM that he started opening up and talking to the resident’s ad staff at the shelter. He reports that he is no longer scared of the residents at the shelter nor does he want to leave. Justin expresses to CM that since he started talking to staff and the other residents he has been feeling a lot better. Justin reports going on outing with the other residents and staff. He states
Learning about the history of the United States is an incredibly valuable journey. As a part of this learning process students better understand society and how it works, and can more fully discern different mindsets seen through history and how that is significant. History is also important because in every generation of students there are future leaders, presidents, fathers, mothers, etc. These people need to be properly educated in the past so they can see how to live their own lives to avoid the mistakes of people in similar roles in the past; and also to see what worked well for them. Before APUSH, I struggled with many academic skills. I never understood the value of reading a textbook word for word. I couldn’t see connections between
Today’s experience at my site-base was much different than on Monday. I came at the very beginning of the school day, so that I could observe the procedures that Mrs. Wright uses when the students arrive to school. Furthermore, I was able to participate more frequently during this observation than the previous one, which I appreciated because I was able to get to know the students better.
Another is higher standards within the school. I noticed that students at Cerritos were given a lot more works at a higher level compared to my peers at the time at other schools. Math at one or two levels higher at other schools was normal in Cerritos, and students were expected to take at least three to four minimum AP’s before graduation. That definitely triggered competition between us and stimulated growth at a different level.
After leaving Stone Mt. We started to drive and asked him about the emo stuff and how it made feel. He stated he is Emo and he will not change and that is who he is. ( I'm just asking question i'm not making judgements or commits during all this). I could tell that he is not happy so we stopped and bought some clothes and shoes. The remainder of the day went fine because I didn't ask questions because I could see NO SKILL were being used. The around 4:00 we went to Target to do a little window shopping and Michael asked if I bought him a MP3 yet I said No I haven't. The melt down started I told me to stay away from him don't a f$%^ word to him. I said we need to leave he said NO. We finally leave and get into the car and the verbal beat down starts he has me in tears. He also stated that was the "only reason he was trying for level 2" and he should go back and punch someone in the face what is the point of trying. I told him the only way I consider buying the mp3 would be to put in his distress tolerance kit with mindful music. O Man I said the wrong thing there. He went on another tirade stating that staff uses Mindful music to torture them and it make him want to punch

Ms. Orbach choose to give him a moment to calm down and proceeded with the meeting. When the meeting was over she noticed that you did not come back downstairs. I asked her, if we can go upstairs and talk to him. Our goal was to stay calm and to just get an understanding about why he does not like the idea of house rules. Ms. Orbach went to Drew and asked him what's wrong with having house rules and if he follows the rules at school. He did not answer her. I pulled Ms. Orbach to the side and her to ask him, if he was afraid of having house rules I also explain that it is a good thing After this conversation I had Ms. Orbach give him a hug. Ms. Orbach and I then went back downstairs it was time for her to cook
During my simulation today I was paired up with my colleague, Madison. Since we were the third group, we watched as the other two groups went through their part of the scenario in the debriefing room. We ensured to pay attention to the patient’s clinical status, the interventions our colleagues provided, along with the medications that were administered. As our colleagues administered medications, we also performed our own medication math to ensure the patient was receiving the correct dosage. That way if a medication error was identified, we would be better prepared to intervene. In addition, before we entered the room, we had agreed that I would perform the vital signs on the patient, perform and assessment, and ensure the equipment was hooked
Jared is a 17 year old healthy male who has been participating in after school activities at Northside Family Services. Jared is gregarious, a good student, and volunteers in various extracurricular activities. Recently the staff noticed his level of participation in the Center has been dropping off. When he does attend and participate he seems distracted, preoccupied. One evening Jared approaches me and seems very nervous. We exchange brief welcoming remarks and he suddenly makes an unexpected statement:
