Since grade 7, I have been in an academically competitive school. I was immediately thrust into an environment of intense learning. My early years were primarily of struggle. However, after a junior high of strenuous work to keep up with my academically brilliant peers, I entered high school with the confidence to challenge myself.
Aside from languages, I have taken every AP course offered at my school. Currently, I am one of the two students in my grade taking full AP.
I strive to improve my mathematical understanding of the world. Math is the foundation of so many areas of study and unbelievably expansive. Every year in high school, I have entered numerous math contests to test out my abilities and to expose myself to the complex world I have yet to uncover. They filled me with the images of two invincible grandparents who were to always be the same. Fun, energetic, and strong enough to carry me through any adversity. These illusions were shattered by my visit back. They had aged so much in the years I was away. On the plane ride to Guangzhou, I painfully remember the anxiety I had as the plane ascended and descended. My grandmother had developed heart disease and weakly smiled through the turbulence. It was torture to see her in that state. To watch helplessly as I clutched her arm tightly, distracting her through the discomfort. From that day on, I swore to protect my grandparents. Now it was my turn to hold their hands and create a better

In many moments of my life I have felt small. Even within my brazen fantasies of changing the world I would often snicker and ask myself, "Who are you to be able to do such things? You are only one little person!" It was with this feeling of doubt that I headed to Girls State in the summer after my junior year.

This made it easy for the Spaniards to gain a good foothold on the new world. But Herman Cortez then started a death march through the towns turning Aztec against Aztec.

All businesses have a number of stakeholders each with individual interests in what the business does, the owners (In co-ops case, the members) will want good financial gains from their investments. Businesses such as co-op should be managed with the interests of all stakeholders in mind.
I entered my school academically oriented and athletically lackadaisical. But after seeing how the school took inner-city kids and taught them that athletic victory and academic victory lead to success, I decided to be victorious in both ways… and this meant hard work. Sophomore year it meant playing piano for school-wide chapel every week and tutoring Rico, our soccer team’s goalie, in Pre-Calculus. Junior year it meant starting the school’s first book club, joining the wrestling team, and gaining ten pounds of muscle in the gym. And senior year it meant becoming a varsity soccer captain, winning our team’s first Regional Championship, and being the first student in the school’s history to receive the AP Scholar Award… though I still struggle with Spanish and Tupac references here and

There were students from all around the world who had different cultures, religions, and hardships. I perceived that high school is a race, a race where I can run at my own pace and my goals are the prize. I entered an environment where the opportunities were endless and I was allowed to accomplish whatever I want. My confidence began to flourish. I started involving myself in school work and began to participate in class. During my sophomore year, I engaged in numerous group activities such as the school play, science competition team, and advanced arts. I earned respect and developed a reputable character in school. I reached a milestone in my journey during junior year when I was inducted into the National Honors Society, played varsity tennis and became class
One thing that makes me stand out in my high school's community is my readiness to take the next step. I have always been up for any challenge thrown at me throughout my high school career. Going into high school, I was an antisocial student who was too timid to take any risks. All I wanted to do was get my good grades and get out. However, my high school's environment has helped me develop into a well rounded student. Since freshman year, I have taken a new step each year in order to challenge myself. Whether it be joining the Honors Society and increasing my community service workload, or running for an officer position when public speaking has never been a proficient area for me, challenging myself is a way to keep me on my toes
Problem Essay Myaccess: American jazz legend Duke Ellington said,” A problem is a change for you to do your best.” I agree with this quote because I feel like people can be the worst at doing something, but the only thing that can make it better, stronger, and successful is to talk to someone that can help you and fix your problems. When I was thirteen I really wanted to play soccer for any school
However, until grade 7, I had never tried to further my knowledge ahead of the rest of the class. In my last year of elementary I was asked to take part in the Gauss math contest, also being warned that it came with additional amounts of homework. Always up for a challenge I immediately accepted and was rewarded with a second place score. The contest changed my perspective towards math, revealing connections and patterns between past, present, and future concepts. Since then I have continued to take part in annual math contests. Furthermore, I have learned to analyze and compare lessons I’m introduced to in class with previous knowledge. This allows me to create my own understanding, consequently, giving me the ability to aid and support my peers in times of mathematical
At the age of 21 when I started my career at one of the ‘world’s most admired companies’, General Electric, I was oblivious of my strengths. I only had a 1 in a 100 chance for selection, I still attributed my success to chance. Today when I look back with 10 years of experience, I realize my pursuit for excellence was the key.
